Im with ydcc, I don't see "it" with Alwyn. Has moments but that's it. It is hope thatseduces us into wanting more.
I can see that, I'd love for him to have a 'step' and do something a bit more than just being in the right place ahead of the ball. Maybe we've been spoiled with Tippa in the past, but someone with that in their arsenal would be gold.

if he wasn't scared of shadows a player is in there. His pace and ball use would be neat at half back, he could be a pressure forward, give him minutes in the midfield.

He doesn't enjoy contested ball which looks to hold him back

Finally finished looking at the game.

Setterfield. Does dominate at this level. He was good but some of the disposal was very average.

Laverde. Was reasonably good first game back.

Goldstein. Put on a bit of a clinic in the ruck.

Hayes. Solid enough defense but did miss a couple of early targets by foot.

Gerryn. Had a mare. Nothing worked for him on the day.

Davey Jnr. Bit of a nothing game. Made a couple of tackles but had limited involvement. Needs to attack the footy a bit more. He waits for it to bounce up too often and when you do that it will land in your hands maybe 1 out of 10 times. Has to prove he is willing to attack the contest a bit harder. Seems to have gone backwards in that area since his under 18 days.

Clarke. Shoulder injury early. Innocuous looking collision with a team mate.

Unwin. Quiet day. Struggled to get into the play.

Visentini. Got a lucky goal out the back but he had no real impact. Poor game.

Johnson. Finds the ball and uses it pretty well but would need to defend better if he is going to play AFL at half back. Had a couple of poor one on one losses and was also a bit loose as far as finding a man when needed. Has something to work with.

Nguyen. Average today. For a small defender he was pretty loose.

Day-Wicks. Looked okay. Found a bit of the footy. Involved in a few scoring chains. Should see some improvement as the season goes on.
