Points wise it equals roughly pick 15 for Holland's assuming the Crows finish 8th next year.
Would think that the Suns would only be interested in points that they can use this year. The vast majority of those points come from the future 1st involved.

Very bullish about the sun's list. Would expect them to play finals next year and be contending from 2025.

Picks 20 & 24 (in that current position is only just under 200 draft points less than pick 5) so its almost a completed F1 for Hollands and there is nothinng to say that GC could not then trade their 2024 2nd or 3rd out for points this year and then run with 2 x 2024 1sts next year and have they points the need for this year. It was not a hack troll post I put up - it was more than reasonable.

I find Hollands a very hard player to get a read on. Feel like he needs an extra yard of pace to be the player he was in juniors who dominates up forward and through the midfield. Right now his best trait is his tank and kicking but he's got a bit of a plodder look about him in terms of raw pace on the outside.

A very damaging player when played in his natural role but I'm just not sure yet if he has what it takes to do so at AFL level. Reckon he either ends up a bust or a star. Doubtful on his long-term prospects as a role player on the outside.

A wait and see for me.

So does 9 picks in the 50’s, somehow I think everyone is still taking the elite pick 4 and the young former top 10 draftee over them and a future first that could be anything from 8 to 16.

Gold Coast won't be trading pick 5 for a point deficit this season, they'll have much better offers on the table I'd imagine.

If picks 20 and 24 are almost worth as much as pick 5 in points then the points are absolutely ****ed. Gold Coast will trade pick 5 for a massive surplus of points, not a 200 point deficit

you missed the second part of that proposal and that all our GC friends are saying they have enough points anyway - so if thats true, then getting an F1 for a guy that they have barely played and is behind a bunch of others and getting almost a match for points is no bad deal

Likely they'll be able to maintain their points position this year and improve their hand for next year as well.

If they've already got enough points for the academy players this year then why not move some of that and a player that is surplus to needs for a Top-10ish selection next year?

Given that Gold Coast likely only need a small amount of extra points to get the academy kids this year, any trade would likely involve a small sweetner this year plus picks for next season. I reckon maybe St Kilda offer a 2nd rounder + future 2nd rounder + future 3rd rounder for Hollands + future 4th rounder or the like

Hoping that we can package our first rounder for Flanders and Hollands somehow.
Need as much young talent as possible inside the doors

Doesnt make any sense for Gold Coast to do that. They are all good for this year mostly. They need and would want future picks primarily.

I also think 1st rounder is dreamland stuff anyway. If you wanted both itd be Future 1st + Future 2nd + pick 32 for Flanders, Hollands and pick 56 for example

Perhaps we could sweeten it with Rowell and Anderson as well 🙄

As a counter offer we will give you a future 2nd for M King

Hollands has played 14 games in 3 years and Flanders has only played a great second half of this season.
It's really not that unreasonable, potentially a top 10 pick (this year or next) for 2 players with 56 games between them isn't a robbery.

Don't think it happens but it's not outrageous as you seem to be suggesting

Gold Coast finding out what GWS already knows; continually drafting high pick midfielders but not having the ability to play them all means they'll ask for trades.

Well M King has done a knee and a shoulder so a 2nd rounder, is not outrageous

Point I’m making is everyone wants a win, that’s what makes big footy great

Bit of a false equivalency, no?
Of course everyone wants to win a trade, but your comparison is just silly.

Maybe you rate them higher than me, that's fine. I just would rather my club not overpay for a pair of players that have about 15 great games between them despite their obvious potential.
