Perhaps. I'm yet to hear why it should be done though.
Even with a Champions league style setup, I can imagine the appeal dying off relatively quickly.

The proposal doesn't really address that. Amongst those power clubs there'll still be a hierarchy & soon enough they'll find their place.
It reads like change for the sake of it tbh & does nothing to address the causes of any underlying issues IMO. Which stem from participation & certain clubs taking the piss with the rules.
In the scenario put forward, some of those clubs are rewarded for cheating..

I'm not sure the current systems in the local leagues across Melbourne which are run by the perspective clubs can hold them accountable. Each of these leagues are Ponzi schemes. Ponzi schemes are a fraudulent investment scam where the people running the show are also paying themselves. And the people who run the leagues are associated with the clubs they are meant to be administrating. This is why it doesn't work.

Nah no obsession other than I dislike how they get away with a lot of stuff that other clubs don’t. They clearly get favoured by the league which I think is poor form. Plus I’ve seen and heard how they poach young kids for many years and imo that’s very poor form and why I don’t see them in a good way. Yes other clubs do it now but they have been doing it for many years.

A certain ex-AFL player that had played at Pacco does the exact same thing..
Fair enough if you're against Keilor doing it but ignoring Pacco to give Keilor a clip doesn't help.

There's a pretty clear conflict of interest to his criticism.

Tough patch of grass that one, good to see younger folk getting a look in, what stood him above other applicants and where has he been working prior to now?

He worked (played) for a few years at a place called the Brisbane Lions… would have probably learnt a thing or two playing there!

Has also worked as the multicultural talent programs lead at the AFL since 2022.

He also worked with the Melton Council.
With his experiences with the multicultural talent programs he'd know the western jets region better than anyone especially when it comes to engaging with those communities

Played 120 games for Pascoe Vale, won EDFL B&F U/16’s for them. Then arrived at Keilor.

It's basically saying, he came to Keilor to better he's footy, we made him better, opened up vfl doors and look at the results, come to Keilor and you're a better chance to get a shot at making the afl.

Would it be more beneficial to get rid of the tac cup? How many jets have been drafted in the last 6 years?

Maybe if the system was gone, you could lower clubs points and make clubs play these guys in the ones. Any players from lower division sides, go into a premier league draft at the start of the year, where the bottom side gets first pick for best junior and then have under 21 interleague once a month to help get metro under 18 side for national championships
