Do you think Freo is a Premiership contender ?

Honestly don't understand why this question is being raised on the back of the opinion of two people. By definition we are, along with several other clubs, contenders through mere qualification. Anything beyond that is simply not worth speculation.

I can understand the skepticism, but at the end of the day we can only face the teams we are drawn, and we can only field the players that we have available, and with four rounds to go we sit fourth on the ladder and that's all that really matters.

So are you saying that because people said the same about Geelong last year that we aren't a premiership threat?

Or are you saying because our game plan beat Geelong last year and their gameplan want meant to hold up in the finals that we are a premiership threat?

No. What I am saying is that "X team is built for finals" is meaningless. You will find out if your team is built for finals when they play finals.

You should listen to your coach lavish praise on them. He mentioned work ethic about 65 times ...

There's a lot to like about Freo's game, they played as a unit, they sustained pressure all over the ground and they've got some serious talent, but that doesn't discount anything I said. I could serve you up a glass of your favourite drink with 5mL of my piss mixed in with it and I'm pretty sure you would call that nasty and refuse to drink it up.

I didn't know you could convert Yarran's performance into a volume.

I really don't think a drink with urine is analogous to Fremantle, but anyway.

Your "win" against us at the G was heavily umpire-assisted too, whenever we looked like gaining momentum they manufactured non-existent frees to hand you back control of the game but ya lets not let that get in the way of a good whinge:rolleyes:

Although I think the OP has worn his black and yellow coloured glasses throughout this thread, these apparently non-existent frees have taken first prize when it comes to one eyed allegiances.

We won by a fair margin that game

It isn't the same as the close win you had in Subi where your side was heavily assisted by the crap umpiring. Give is back only one of the 2-3 goals that were gifted and we win.

You know you can get Richmond those points if you petition the AFL enough signatures before season's end. Go get your school friends to do that with you.

Truth hurts eh?

I've said it before, I don't consider the Subi match a win to Freo. It might be so on paper but we were arse r*ped by the umpires.

You're very lucky you have the 4 points from that game. I'm not going to sit back and just say that Freo deserved to win that game. They didn't and if the umpires had done their job properly the 4 points would be with the RFC.
While you were having your fun with the umpires, do you remember Michael Barlow having a kick from out of bounds that he completely shanked with the ball not even entering play? What SHOULD have been a throw in was given as a free kick( King I think ) and a goal kicked by Richmond. That's 6 points I can think of you shouldn't have got.
Why did Vickery try and soccer trough a ball that, if he had left it, would have rolled through anyway. What an idiot.
Your OP title isn't what you're arguing. It should read something like,'Why is Freo more of a chance than Richmond?'
You've asked people a question but you are answering something different.

it was close to 5-6 goals champ. I know this because I had BOTH my eyes open when watching the game. Go read through the gameday thread and you will find many neutrals agreeing you got a massive leg up by umpires which effectively won you the game. Congrats on your tainted win:)

Fact : Last year Fremantle finished higher than Geelong by beating them in the elimination final -what happens -they get to play GWS and Melbourne twice -do they get to play to play the two grand finalists twice -no chance in hell of that

Maybe, before you stab at your keyboard, you Google a little. Freo have never had GWS, nor any expansion side, twice in a season.

Your a joke mate, instead of starting a Richmond wankfest thread you start a thread bagging a team above you and try to direct the thread to how good Richmond are. The tiges are much improved, but if you had the injury list that we have had throughout the year, you would be lucky to win 10 games. Sit down, shut up and enjoy watching your team play finals in a months time.

Based on current form you would have to say yes really; Cats and Hawks are looking shaky, and not just because of the recent losses. Dockers however keep on getting stronger and stronger. Like alot of others, I sometimes doubt they have the neccessary goal kicking ability to match it with the likes of Hawthorn who are more then capable of piling on a number of goals in minutes. However, who knows really. They are certainly in with a chance, especially with top 4 pretty much a guarantee at this point.

Richmonds version of Plugger 35.

The leg up they got at the G was laughable with capatin corageous Cotchin throwing his head back and that pathetic tall fwd you have who is able to propel his body forward when he senses someone behind him. That won't work come finals time.
