maybe when cox was playing good footy, but since cox has declined, he’s been important to our structure. We’ll adapt, but it’s not ideal.he's a cherry on top kind of player if you can get him firing thats fantastic but he complements a great team isn't super critical though it is a shame as he was in some really solid form
McStay is our only quality target forward. He is hugely important. We can win without him, as we can without any single player, but it's far less likely than with him.maybe when cox was playing good footy, but since cox has declined, he’s been important to our structure. Thats a standard MCLsounds about right
only contracted to age 32 anywaySeems his knees are cooked to me
Great news not an acl
Can't see this bloke playing much post 30 years of age unfortunately
shocking luck3 knee injuries and a finger tendon in 2 and a half seasons, unbelievable
yet his injuries with us have all occurred when he was playing forward. When he returns does it end the back up ruck role? At this point I’d rather not risk him in there anymore
don't think it would matter either way i think his body just isn't up to playing huge chunks of AFL level footyyet his injuries with us have all occurred when he was playing forward.
Send him to the backline!yet his injuries with us have all occurred when he was playing forward.
wouldn't matter and would disrupt a very much firing backlineSend him to the backline!
Wasn’t being serious. Agree that his body just isn’t holding up for him unfortunately. Just want to try and minimise the impact on himwouldn't matter and would disrupt a very much firing backline
i think if he gets injured in 2026 long-term we pay him out he's on decent coin and just can't stay on the park long enough he's not Kreugs level bad but just when he hits some form gets a long term injury Dan would be just as devastated and annoyed as we areHopefully MCL is worst case.
However we still have a problem moving forward.
We can’t be putting him in as second ruck..particularly at CB…
We also can’t afford to carry a second ruck with all of McStay , Mihocek and Membrey already in the side
Headache what we do from here
He didn’t do much today even before getting injured and we did okMcStay is our only quality target forward. He is hugely important. We can win without him, as we can without any single player, but it's far less likely than with him.
