Wonder if Evans can pull a guy like Hodge up here as an assistant? Assuming there was an interest in coaching, he's spent plenty of time in and around Hawthorn, a different club might be a good fit.

Would certainly bring a little hardness to our powder puffs.
How good would that be

He could carpool with Harbrow, least then only one would get the demerit points :p

If any of you know anyone involved up there, get Blake Caracella's name out there. He's the one. Extraordinary pedigree and the talent to boot.

Played in flags under Sheedy and Matthews and played under Malthouse. Then coached under Malthouse, Thompson and C Scott (including 2011 Geelong flag). Moved to Richmond this year and look at the turnaround.

Caracella is the guy. The only reason I think he isn't a coach right now is because he hasn't had a more steady position appear in the last couple of years. He was behind Bolts for Carlton, Adelaide wanted someone else in the Walsh mould and Brisbane needed a holistic operator. Caracella is a gun tactician who uses his cattle to full effect, he's perfect for an imperfect GC list that needs results quickly while still improving its youth.

We'll do our best Blake :p

Mitch Cleary with the news that Evans is chasing Hawks list manager Graham Wright. Doesn't specify for what position but the media guys were speculating it would have to be for Ashcroft's position as footy manager to get Wright interested.
Wow that would be ironic after what happened with O'Meara at last year's trade period. Hawks fans would go nuts!

Can you imagine if Evans ('their' guy) managed to bring up Wright and Hodgey?! After the Coch supposedly played a role in snagging Evans in the first place.

And then there is Alistair Clarkson and those unusual appearances on the coast. ;)

Evans has always been a massive fan of Wright. He appointed him list manager in 2011 at Hawthorn and was quoted as saying "has a strong understanding on where the game is heading and has consistently impressed with pragmatic philosophies on list management, recruiting and talent identification".
Collingwood offered him the head of footy job last year and he knocked it back. Fun times ahead.

I think the longer this has gone on it has become more apparent that the AFL that has bankrolled the club has planted Evans to right the ship more than the Coch convincing him to come.

On Wright he was at the Hawks since 2007 and was there for all the premierships but most of the big guns were recruited by Buckanara & Pelchen

Not sure how I would feel about Wright - has been at a big club that know what they are doing and would have a good working relationship with Evans but hasn't done this role elsewhere before

Evans has worked close with Wright. That's good enough for me.

ROCKET WILL BE COACH. FULL STOP.
Yep I would like to see him be Re-signed as well. Think he's done a good job all by himself with very little support around him.
Give him two more years and let him bring in his own team to work with

The Flog is reporting John Barker is high on Mark Evens list if Rocket is moved on
A few jurnos having a go at damo for rehashing an article from last month as his own news on tonight footy show.
I must admit I missed this article

yep and all the players say he has helped them lots and has changed the club for the better. He is a great guy too after meeting him twice at Post Match functions. #StandByRocket

Yep He has been great for the club. And if it wasn't for him we wouldn't of landed Lyons,Witts and Barlow. All three players have gone on record saying if it wasn't for Rocket passionate pitch they would of gone elsewhere

I find it really disrespectful that Journo's like Barrett and Hutchinson are talking about who the replacement will be and "who's lining up" while Rocket is still coach. Discuss if he will get sacked or not but going beyond that is unprofessional.
