Western Bulldogs defender Oskar Baker has been handed a one-match ban by the MRO after an incident in Sunday’s round four match against Fremantle.

The rough conduct charge was made in relation to an incident involving Andrew Brayshaw in the fourth quarter, which was assessed as careless, medium impact, high contact.
As a first offence, Baker can accept a one-match sanction.

The Club has until 11am AEST tomorrow to accept or challenge the suspension.

Call me crazy but if we’re planning on resting Libba soon this might be the best time to do it.
Not sure we can afford to rest him but he did look fatigued the further the game went. We need to be more careful with him because I don't think he can continue to play with the same energy and intensity that he showed in the first three rounds.

65m x 110m
Norwood Oval's dimensions are 165m x 110m, making it the narrowest ground in use in the SANFL.

This will be a different game to last week on the small narrow ground. We probably will not get scored against as much from the turnover like the dockers did. Centre bounce clearance will have a big impact and looks like the lions have us covered without The Bont and ADZ. i am thinking Sam will need to kick 7 plus for us to win.

Should be playing 16 a side 😉

Dolan offers a bit of speed but really 4 games for kid who is nowhere near physically ready. This spot should be Arty's has the speed and skill set but cannot find the ball because he lacks hardness. Arty you must develop this or you can kiss your AFL career good bye.
I think the chances that Jones is on the list next year are increasingly slim. Would much rather have Cooper Craig-Peters available for selection. Dolan is already offering just as much if not more so I'm fine to prioritize his development, whether that's in the AFL team or collecting bigger numbers in the VFL.

I think I'd be going:
Outs: Khamis, Baker + Bramble to sub
Ins: Cleary, Poulter + Gallagher to the 22
* I'm not opposed to Hynes for Dolan

Positional changes:
  • O'Donnell to the backline. I'm a big fan of his but not as a forward.
  • Freijah to the backline - think we can get away with others (West, Harmes) taking his mid minutes this week without getting killed on the spread given the smaller ground
  • Williams back to wing ... I'd just lock him and Davidson down for the rest of the season, with Poulter in the team to give flexibility for in-game injuries or positional needs

B: Cleary / Jones / O'Donnell
HB Dale / Lobb / Freijah
C Williams / Libba / Davidson
HF West / Naughton / Sanders
F Vandermeer / Darcy / Harmes
R English / Kennedy / Richards
I Gallagher / McNeil / Dolan / Poulter / (Bramble)

Need another marking target forward or else Darcy is ****ed more

I'm very much opposed to Freijah going back whilst the opportunity to play him in the middle is there (in Bont and Treloar’s absence).

There are dividends to be had down the track with his exposure to the midfield.

Reading comprehension clearly isn't your strong point.

Don't need to be smart**** about it, my point is pretty simple if you want to listen.

The club and all clubs need to be more transparent with their injury lists. For once, Cornes is right. How many times does 1-2 become 4 weeks and 2-4 weeks become 6? Clubs know exactly what's going on, so be up front and don't give us 'indefinite' either, that's rubbish.

Anyway, FWIW, hopefully Busslinger gets a go this week and we see Hynes soon.

He will be at worst 2 weeks behind the best case scenario with a complex calf strain they haven’t been dishonest at all aligning yourself with a small brained individual like Kane isn’t the best idea

I respectfully disagree. Injuries aren't straight forward at all and during recovery a ton of different things can happen and especially with something listed as a complex calf strain.

Some guys are back from an ACL in 9 months, some a year, some 14 months. Some guys only miss two weeks with a hammy, others 3-4.

And no Cornes strategically left out the most important wording on the report he was reading intentionally to stir up controversy, so no he isn't right. The Dogs said will miss AT LEAST 6 weeks and then will re-evaluate. We are still on a similar timetable if he's back in the next week or two.

Kennedy is the only 1 there who could take a contested mark
JOD has only taken 4 marks in total over the last 2 games as a forward and none of them contested. If he was offering that threat (*) then I wouldn't be opposed to keeping him forward but he's not.

* I accept he's won 7 free kicks, some of which may have been in attempting to hinder him from taking a contested mark.

Surely that late goal vs Carlton was counted as a contested mark? Clearly a Carlton player jumped for the ball also, therefore a contest?

Not sure why this tip is being used. If Adelaide want this ridiculous "Gather Round" then they need to supply facilities that are not tips with brick walls down the wing. I don't want quirky, it's not a 3rd rate comp like SANFL or EDFL.
Theey run a wine and food festival outside the ground, so what!! It's a tip.

I'd take JOD's output the last two weeks over Naughtons. JOD's actually looks likely to get the footy.

Knowing Norwood oval well, its very narrow and will definitely be influenced by the ruck/centre in a similar way to the SCG. This does mean that a giant like Sam Darcy will be very hard to match up from clearances out of the middle. Should also mean we are less likely to get killed on turnover as bad as we did v the Dockers on the weekend.
Will definitely make it interesting.

For anyone heading over this weekend, I believe the dogs have their run on Norwood oval on Friday between 10-12.
There is plenty of pubs and restaurants in the area for the game on Saturday and its possible to walk from the CBD to Norwood if you are inclined. 32 degrees is the forecast for Saturday now.
