Changes for round 6 vs West Coast

I agree with the calls for no change. I was disappointed with the games of Tutt and Vez but I think they should be given at least a couple of successive games to show what they have. They do have the pace to be potentially important players on the big ground next week but do need to show soon that they can turn potential into action.

I wasn't as impressed by some here about Austin's game. To me he was ok but didn't have the strength of presence needed. I am not saying he played badly I am just not sure he has much more to give. Happy to be proved wrong and with Williams and Talia injured he should get more games. I think we dodged a bullet last night with Hawkins out for them. To me we looked a good tall short down back anyway when Pods and Taylor were there so throw Hawkins in and trouble could have been big. It is unfair to Morris to keep asking him to play on guys much taller than himself. He is such a good player and holds up every week but how much would he kill it if he could play on the third tall every game?

So no change for me but if the injured aren't fit and Goodes goes then Pearce comes in (and Morris has to play on a giant yet again!)

No way Hrovat will be promoted this week. Was scheduled for his 1st game of season yesterday with Williamstown Development team.

Needs to show form there and in Willy seniors before he can be considered.

Goods has a clean slate - Maybe get away with it with a reprimand? No carry over points so may only get 1? It was low impact, and no ill effects for the opponent - Wasnt intentional I reckon 1 week

Macca seemed to like Austin's effect on the game so he may well play next week.

Should be pretty obvious match ups, Roughy to Kennedy will be key, Morris to Darling, i'd back Morris against anyone he's not undersized against and Young to Hill....Young to win that easily. Lecras is a perfect Picken opponent i reckon too because he can't run him off the park. Austin as insurance for both of their talls.

With no NicNat they shouldn't really own the ball either. Minson could hurt Cox with the form he's in.

If Griffen and Murphy are back and we actually come to play West Coast will REALLY have to earn their points.

Pearce for Goodes, he will get at least one week I think.

Give Griff and Murph another week to get right.

Vez as sub, Macrae to start

16 kids will have more confidence after last nights effort. Let them sustain that by giving them ALL a chance to back it up and gain more confidence. Every game into these kids is just so vital to our rebuild and how quickly or ascension up the ladder can begin

I wonder if Vez will be given another week. After a fairly disappointing game in Adelaide Tutt was, so hopefully he is. Give him time to adjust. Has Pearce been an emergency for us? If not we're probably more likely to see Howard for Goodes. Would be a big loss though.

I don't want to mess with the forward line though and I'm happy enough with how everyone else played. So not too keen on bringing Cordy back. And considering the bigs that the eagles have in the forward line I'm happy to take Aussie in.

Just watching the Boyd-Selwood incident over and over, there is absolutely no chance Boyd gets suspended for that. Ball is within 5m, Boyd comes from the side with his arm, but it only connects with Selwood's arm. Selwood goes down grabbing his stomach though, of course .

Hahahaha, I think there was a touch on the tummy, but the way Boyds arm hit Selwood it was naturally going to wrap around the body and hit it. It wasn't a bad one anyway. You have to love Selwood though, one of the softest hard men in the game.

I thought the same, but i've watched it like 40 times now, and you can't even see the slightest blur which would be Boyd's arm going to his stomach :p. Just clear Geelong guernsey the whole time.

Very much a soft "hard man". Loved that he went and complained to the umpire too :D.

Highlight of the night for me was the sarcastic cheers the Bulldogs crowd gave Selwood when he got up from pretending to be hurt.

It was just won of the small football fan wins that make going to potential thrashing games so worth it.

I rate Selwood as one of the best players in the league but god dam he is a whinger, I never knew how much of a sook he was. Bit of sense of entitlement about him.

One of 4 boys all vying for Mummy's attention, there was destined to be one that whinges more than the rest.

Great player, would love him at the Dogs but his bleating and crying sullies his standing in the game.

Also thought it ironic when he got pinged for a high tackle on; I think it was Picken (who ducked) and he proceeded to tell the Umpire he ducked. You'd know Joel, you are the best at it in the Comp!!!

Marko might get a game because of West Coast's big forward line - and he has been in good form for the reserves. Who knows.
In B4 anyone says he's not as good as Austin :D

Is Veszpa playing for his career? Let's say he gets dropped after 3 indifferent games, do you see him get another run in the seniors this season?
Let's wait until he actually plays two more indifferent games first. I reckon he can make it this time round.

IN: Pearce, Murphy
OUT: Goodes, Tutt

Picken Roughead Young
JJ Morris Pearce
Cross Boyd Cooney
Dahlhaus Jones Smith
Stringer Austin Murphy

Minson, Libba :hearts: , Lower

Wallis, Stevens, Macrae | Vesz

Addison, Tutt, Markovic

Give Griffen another week off, see if Murph pulls up.. if not leave Tutt in and make him the sub.

Give Cordy another week at Willy and hopefully Hrovat has enough match fitness to play Willy seniors, give him 2-3 matches there and no doubt he will be pressing for selection. Hopefully Roberts, Howard continue to improve through Willy and lets just pray we get Williams fit..
