Some impressive numbers in the 'all teams' category there...

Gaz becomes the most prolific handballer in the history of the game. With about 4000 more than his Dad. And roughly 4160 more than K.B.

And Toma confirms his status as the ultimate team-player around goals as he moves into the top ten all-time for goal assists. Haven't seen the entire list but he might already be the most prolific full-forward ever for this stat. Must be an incredibly valued teammate down there for all the support he provides to others.

The only players in the Top 20 who average more per game than Hawkins are Betts, Ablett Jr, and Robbie Gray.
N. Riewoldt, J. Riewoldt, and Franklin are the only others in the Top 30 that would be considered permanent key position forwards.
Remembering that the stat has only been collected since 2002. However, don't recall a lot of key forwards who were known for giving off goals before that.

Joel Selwood has just knocked off Sam Newman for 4th place in most games played. He needs 4 more to catch up with Jimmy for 3rd.
Will he catch up with Ian Nankervis then Corey Enright to take top spot ?

All time*

(*since 1999)

Yes, all good, I get that. It's only in the era during which these stats have been recorded.

Still makes it a decent achievement. And the trajectory of footy at this point doesn't suggest he'll be easy to catch if he gets to the front in this category before retirement.

Would be interesting to know how many of the players in the top 20 for games played for the club started their careers in the 1990s or later. Would be a large percentage I would think.

Gaz will move past Reg Hickey to equal 20th (with Cameron Ling) after Saturday's PF. So, after the weekend, the only players in the top 20 who didn't start in the 90's or later will be the Nankervis brothers, Sam Newman, Couchy, Buddha and Billy Goggin. With Mitch Duncan, Guthers and Blitz all likely to move past Billy Goggin, Bruce Nankervis and Paul Couch (at least) before their careers are out as well.

Been a phenomenal time for long careers at the Cats over these last thirty years or so.

Great info, thanks very much for posting.

Could easily end up with the skipper and Toma as the top two all-time before their careers are over.
