ooohh I hope so Murph, as i reckon Mr Rowe and Mr Morrison at OM will be right up there this year.

GF: Old Carey vs STB

Making up the four :Old Camberwell & SKOB

OH - just outside : unless they can seperate the 'marquee' from the 'main event'

OM's - are locked in and ready to hit the 09 season running: will be right in there up until the Queens Birthday and then 'POP' - they just need more depth

UB & OT - scratch & see

Ormond & Hampton - 'hello & goodbye'.

Unless HR recruit some game day strategists into their coaching box then they could be embarrassed. When these 2 sides meet, the old RAH RAH RAH is going to be deafening.

Gold Carl, gold.

I watched the aforementioned Hampton coach one day last year...dear oh dear.

Got through about 15 darts per quarter, 27 f**ks, and managed to talk some footy in between.
Has got his team promoted two years in a row though.

I would think Barnesy is a little more sophisticated that just rah rah.

Cults is captain, Rambo will play FF/CHF.

I may change my B and F selections then

Cultrera is possibly one of the best players of the past 5-6 years in A Grade, especially considering he has been at Trinity who have lingered at the bottom of the ladder for a few years now. One of the hardest players to man up on.
Will be way up there in the comp B and F if fit.

Selections
1st- Tie B Jordan/A Cultrera
2nd- Dowd/T.Simpson
3rd- J Rowe

thoughts?

Agreed - Cults went back-to-back in A grade goal kicking in 2006 and 2007 despite the seniors finishing 7th and 8th in those seasons. Depending on how much time he spends in the midfield, he'll probably win the B grade goal-kicking at least.

Frankly, obviously I'm a little biased but I'm astounded that posters are rating OTs as a relegation chance after 9 straight seasons in A section. Throw in the fact the U19s won the North 1 flag and are into their first season of Div 1 footy - there's obviously some quality coming through.

I'd have them in my top 4.

Ugly - nice to hear from you, I'm travelling along nicely down at Fitzroy. Looking forward to just playing. I didn't hear any news of your retirement over the summer, so I presume you'll be kicking bags at Ted Ajani and trying to get the Bullants into B section for 2010. ;)

I'd have thought OM's, with Gardiner, Greene and Beaumont (the one who was BOG in the VFL reserves premiership for Willy last year) coming into their ranks would give it a bit of a shake?

That's three players who will be very, very good in B Section.

Only darts thou - No cigar!!

Barney back in B section, heavens above!!! Is spitting all over your players at every change sophisticated???

I'm sure he's glad Beauy went down, means he won't get involved in any more scuffles at Shark Park!!!

As for HR's, Guy Martyn from Sandringham is now full time at Roverland, his 40+ touches and 7 goals Vs Ajax from the midfield last year would suggest he can play a bit!

They will need him and aout 6 others like him.

Hopefully they can park a giant ashtray next to the coaching bench!!

any practice matches this weekend or last weekend? i know skob have a game agaisnt ajax.. any other games going on?

Ormond v Old Camberwell @ Mentone Grammar Playing Fields this Sunday

Followed by:

Ormond v Ajax @ Mentone Grammar Playing Fields - Sat 28/03
Ormond v St Pauls (SFL) @ Mentone Grammar Playing Fields - Sat 04/04

although the playing group at trinity are the biggest bunch of tossers going round, (i'd laugh if one of them did a career ending injury while i was watching), i believe they will be back up to A section very soon..

one last thing, you trinity blokes can give up the tough act... you arn't tough, that's y u went to trinity u homo's..

as much as it hurts me to say they will give finals a serious shake up this year

Old Melburnians beat Old Scotch 14 goals to 6 yesterday at Moorabbin. Old Scotch didn't have James Byrne or Paul Licuria but did include Brennan (ex-Hawthorn), Nathan Brown (ex-Melbourne) and Houlihan. OMs were without Steven Greene and Charlie Gardiner.

Wouldnt worry about praccy match form, especially the first one.

CArmberwell beat Ormond by 2 goals, Robbins with seven, Ormond apparently full strength, OC at around 50%.

Yes OM's did look very good, and will be hard to beat in B section. I wouldn't take too much from the game, Brown and Houlihan played limited minutes and OS had around 12 starting 1's players who did not play.

OM's must be carefull that they dont run out of steam mid year, I feel that they are peaking to early.
