Pretty uneventful episode of Dynamite this week.

Dax telling the ref not to cash the cheque until Friday and then Taz said "I've heard that one before" lmao.

Swerve saying he deserved to get his house burnt down to Hangman stopped him in his tracks, that was weird. Damn Claudio power-bombed Swerve onto pieces of glass.

Popped for this

Don't tease me a Hangman save on Swerve then not deliver!!

But it was the right thing to do for this particular show.

Surprised they went the glass, cos I'm expecting a Texas Death Match between Swerve and Mox at DON or maybe even stretch it out to All In.

Just a few thoughts on the state of play in AEW.

- The women deserve a third title. An International Title should be introduced and be used the same way as Takeshita and MJF used it for the men. With so much non-American talent, it could be defended easily in Europe, Asia and South America. The TBS Title should be treated the same as the TNT Title for the men, as a springboard for bigger and better things ahead.

- The Owen Hart Tournament feels like it's starting way too early this year. I'd understand if there were fields of 16, but sticking to 8 feels strange. A lot of time to fill in pre/post Double Or Nothing.

- Shame about the recent spate of injuries. White should be back for All In, Davis is still a question mark but Brian Cage and Cassidy look long term. The recent influx of new talent certainly helps along with those about to return.

- Toni Storm about to break more female records in the near future. At Dynasty, she goes past Britt Baker for most appearances at AEW PPV's with 15. Her next win on Dynamite, she goes past Hikaru Shida for most wins on that show with 34.

- The young talent on display at Dynasty is very encouraging for the future. 31 or younger on this card include Ospreay, Knight, Garcia, Yuta, Bandido, Storm, Bayne, Hart and Fletcher.

- If a PPV was to come to Australia, Dynasty would be the one to target. It's only new, hasn't quite established itself and having it around Easter time makes a lot of sense.

There is also the ROH Women's and Women's TV Titles to go for.

I miss Shida. at least she's always on youtube streaming her video games.

I'm not sure how I feel about the Cope singalong dying a death this week on Dynamite.

On one hand I like that it had caught on, it was a very happy memory of a great show in Brisbane. On the other hand though I'm like "**** you try-hards, come back to Australia if you want it done right!"

feels very try-hard-ish to me.

Very good opener on Collision between Fletcher/Takeshita and Hobbs/Ishii.

Jay White's injury confirmed to be a broken hand. Reckon that's a 2 month injury.

Felt like Cash vs PAC dragged on too long, and Speedball vs Dralistico was too short.

Solid main event with Mone/Harley vs Athena/Julia.

Anyone give Swerve a shot tomorrow?

I wasn't... but then when I think of the card in its totality - including first round tournament matches, which are the definition of tv matches that we shouldn't be paying for - I can't imagine too much of consequence happening.

The women's title isn't changing, the tag title isn't changing, I don't think Kenny is losing already, it doesn't make much sense for Rated FTR to win, the winner of Garcia/Cole and Bandido/Jericho isn't really "much of consequence."

I wonder if the card is booked into a corner such that Swerve needs to win it. It would make sense with the Owen, Kyle finally has to win something that he's set his targets on, he's lost too many of the big matches.

they need the lyrics on screen karaoke style for Max Caster's chant. that would be funny

Dude is going to get over with this chant, 100% bookmark it now... Like Roddy Strong and "ADAM!" which was supposed to annoy people... but then didn't.

Harley was right in the lead up to Grand Slam, that the most entertaining Mone has been (in AEW at least) was when Harley had her hand "up her PUPPET ARSE!!"

I watch them together, and I think they're going to find reasons to keep them together. They have chemistry for days, Harley might finally get her over.

I dunno... agree though, it does seem like a fairly inconsequemtial PPV storyline wise...

But as as I said earlier, the Powerbomb onto glass on Dynamite suggests there's a bigger match coming, and I don't think it works as well if Swerve holds the title. IMO, once Mox drops the title, that should be the end of the Death Riders.

I'm thinking maybe a return of the babyface Young Bucks at some point soon... after Hurt Syndicate demanding a challenge but that's still not a big enough BANG for a PPV...

Maybe something else entirely...

Seperate note, CRU with the spikes, just reminds of a cross between a Nintendo character and the Road Warriors. Or kids dressing up in adult clothes... Can't take them seriously.
