Reeves had a close relationship with Kennett and other board members and found himself at odds with Clarkson in 2020 and 2021, eventually resulting in Clarkson’s exit and payout. He strongly backed Mitchell in the succession arrangement, which was brought forward by 12 months, resulting in Clarkson receiving a payout of $900,000 for the final year of his contract, giving the four-time premiership coach a 12-month break.

Sounds like he's Kennett's puppet/golliwog, so probably not..

I hope they do a thorough investigation into how the report got released to Jackson, i'd be staggered if it wasnt from Hawthorn and Kennett wasn't somehow involved.

No chance of that. He'd have put enough distance between himself and the leak to maintain plausible deniability. Someone else will take the hit for it.

As the saying goes, he's as cunning as a sh*thouse rat. But with nowhere near the amount of personal charm.

I listened too - when he mentioned Sonja I thought he might push back against her comments about Hawthorn, but he praised her speech and said she’s right about “building bridges, not battle lines”. He did pretty well, I think.

Theres a couple- Simon Crawshay, QuietB and a few others. But a couple of us have been banned from the Hawks board discussion, and there is some head in the sand stuff over there. But the penny might finally be dropping. I’ve also been threadbanned on the main board lol.

Weird thing is I’m kind of enjoying the Hawks right now- had our share of success and now watching the green shoots of a rebuild. But struggling bigly with what my club has done.

Encouraged by Gowers’ words but he needs to make it a PRIORITY. Even then I’d completely understand if Clarko told us to go **** ourselves.

It’s unfortunate that you and other the rational Hawthorn posters have been banned from the main board thread. It just becomes an echo chamber without balanced viewpoints.

Is Reeves the last of the Kennett aligned people at the club?

It took us a while to have a good clean out but it looks like we’ve refreshed most of the key people in the club. Even though our onfield performance has been rubbish there has been an air of positivity around the club since Sonja took the reins and started making changes.
