Yea it's frustrating. Thing is Bews and Kolo are actually pretty good long kicks when they just do it quickly. They need to be given the order to do that. If they stop for a second it's just never good. Especially not going to work against a side like Richmond.

Two of our midfielders were in tracksuits on the bench after the first 15 minutes in that game too.

Looking forward to this game, two really good teams, I hope Brisbane get up in a tight contest.

Lets hope its injury free and the umpires dont get in the way.

Brisbane by 8

Both are very limited by foot. They're MO are the little chip kick to the fat side and the occasional I50 long bomb. Anything else is fraught with danger.

If we retain possession it's a bit of a bonus. If we get a stoppage further afield, it will do. Turnover and the sphincter tightens.

Out if interest how do they do tickets this year? Is it members (who ever up there) then public or just open to all
So if you got a ticket as a public does that mean lions didn't sell their allocation? Not having a go just curious
when i went onto ticketmaster
It had separate times for gabba members, afl members, lions members (various categories) and then at end general public.
I went into the virtual queue half an hour before general public timeslot and after about 10 mins of it opening (so 40mins since i joined) i got in.

Not sure if lions members were all able to get on between like 9-12 local time on a working day and would try later in lunch breaks or after work?!? And may miss out in some cases as general public like me got in? (In my view general public shouldnt start to be sold until thursday).

Apparently the game was very nearly sold out late yesterday, multiple people on the Lions board were able to get tickets not long after 9am.

I hope you will be supporting the northern alliance on Saturday night Billy.:brisbane:

2019 wants its narrative back. We aren’t Charlie focused anymore.
He still leads your goalkicking and is definitely the barometer for the team, he averages 1.33 goals in losses and even in wins where he kicked 1 or 0 goals were mostly close ones like North (1pt), St Kilda (2pts), Pies (8pts). Shutting down Charlie will be a priority for the Cats regardless

Charlie is getting up and down the ground a lot more this season, it worked to good affect against Richmond, the bonus is he's a very good deliverer of the ball into attacking 50 as well.

I can't wait to get to the Gabba on Saturday, this is our biggest game since the 2004 GF, Cats have been there and done that many times, should be a cracker.

Ha ha, but those two are real cats, the others walk on two legs, but a good way to comment!

I simply don't believe anyone can predict points or goals in win/loss tipping.
Our game has a million instances that can change things every game.
Besides the shape of our ball!

I see where the running through the points or goals with a defender carrying the pill, is back, or not being umpired at all, yet you can't use the boundary as a defence tactic?
That is one instance, where the score is not really from good endeavour, its simply a defence getting possesion for a kick in?

I haven't got a clue whose winning this game, they are both capable, and Brissy has had its rehearsal last year, so it is right in their, Geelong?
I have seen Geelong this year a couple of times where I've thought who is going to beat them, but I've seen them look crappy too. And last weekend , they had no opposition , so that game gives no indication.
All it does is tell Geelong they have to bring their best game , because they don't really know? Collingwood were the walking dead.

Home ground for Brisbane could help, but just hard footy will see, and Geelongs big guns have to be on, if the Dangermouse does not show they could be done! He carries quite a load might be topped out?
Good Luck.

The further away from goal he is the happier I'll become.

Still got nightmares from 2017
A little but I also rate him very highly. Small forwards have been very dangerous against us in recent times as well.

Charlie will still make a cameo or two at FF and pop up for a couple of goals as well as help setting up goals for our other dangerous forwards Rayner Hippy McCarthy Coleman McStay Big O etc not to mention our goal kicking mids such as Neale Zorko and McCluggage

Should be a great game

Lions at home tough to beat. Cats best wins have all been flattering performances against witches hats. Lions should get it done. But can they cope with the pressure of a once in lifetime GABBA GF opportunity?
The Lions had an embarrassing reality check at home last year against Collingwood in front of a capacity crowd. They've been awed against tigers and GWS in finals here, and have overcome the cats here, as well as left the door ajar enough against many teams last two years to lock in and get it done. I'd be surprised if it was anything except being outplayed on the day

Geelong’s defence is slow and our much quicker forwards should have a field day. Expecting Hipwood, Cameron, Coleman, McCarthy, Bailey and Rayner to tear them to shreds. Add in scoreboard contributions from Zorko, McCluggage, Robinson, Berry, Neale, Lyons or McInerney and we will blow them out of the water. We have too many offensive weapons for them. Finally, we won’t be tossing up lollipops as we enter our offensive 50 like Collingwood did. Just as we did against Richmond, expect Geelong to have very few intercept marks in defence. Lions by lots.

Is it? Harry Taylor is slow but Stewart is our second fastest player according to that stupid tracker graphic, o’Connor is fairly sharp and Tuohy is not usain bolt but he doesn’t have any trouble keeping up with anyone.

Henderson?

Henderson?

Hes been among our best players since he returned to the side. Again, not usain bolt but speed isn’t an Achilles heel for him either. Same with Bews and Kolodjashnij. I guess you wouldn’t look at our backline and think it’s electrifying but yeah Taylor is the only one I’d describe as slow
