It is a fact the umps don't pay frees against Dangerfield at Geelong. Anyone remember the Geelong game against Freo in WA when Dangerfield ran at least a metre out of bounds with the ball in hand and the boundary umpire just watched as he ran back in side and had a shot on goal?

Well I am in a frenzy , the umpires nearly won that for Geelong. Look you can't "hate " your opposition , but you get to hate a player or two like Dangerfield and Abblett and that absolute , well I won't use the word, but Selwood, is a disliked person , the umpires look after these three like they were paid to do it.
Even the last free given against Cyril , when he had no prior and was jumped on from behind, just flabbergasting, maximum was a ball up .
I know Geelong is a great team , but we were a 4 goal better side today and still scrounged a win by one point, because of the interpretations by umpires, NOT by merit, from the Geelong players, AND THE SMIRKING SELWOOD IS REALLY A HORRID LITTLE CRITTER.

Wouldn't it be nice to win a game and get treated fairly, where when you catch 2 or 3 Geelong boys in your own forward line and razor finds no NO FREE KICK for us but , finds a Hawk caught by a cat , and free for a Geelong bloke. There were four frees before that to Hawthorn , just dispicable.

You know what.... why do I see this shit, and still watch, it makes me the butt of all jokes when those who will just put up with this unfairness, and just do the sheep trick follow blindly.

Why should we be putting up with that kind of garbage. If the last quarter free count has anything like honest statistics for frees, then I think we got one or two, Geelong must have had 6 or 7, maybe more.

Last year I was at a Geelong v Hawthorn game which Geelong held onto, and we left the ground angry , my son's and I watched the game at the MCG , and the same two players who are continually looked after by Umpires, that is Selwood and Dangerfield, were getting things for what we couldn't work out. How often in any game do [people have to do that!
Now both are good footballers, but umpires and the idiotic style they use to umpire fairly or what ever, look highly suss to me. And the rub today was like the rub WCE used to get at Subi, frees galore.

Again its not what Geelong get or got , its what they won't call for Hawthorn, oe any other opposition, but I know we get murdered umpire wise every time we play this club.

My wife just asked me to ask if any seriously decent Geelong supporters actually see this, I mean some Geelong supporters who actually follow the game of Australian rules, and see this. Its blatant, but I don't expect many to agree , winning was not what you deserved today, but you were valiant as always , and I have a mile of respect for your club, but Ray and his mates killed us , and gave your champs a chance to pinch it, and we as I said had the lead for most of that game , , you guys got more goals from Frees than we did. Its just a fact, and the petty 50's are becoming a turn off , of this game now.

Any one got anything to add. I'd love to hear it, but I know there are some kids & younger adults that are getting used to this terrible judging on the ground, and don't know what fair footy is.

As a neutral supporter, could not really fault the umpires. There was a throw not paid at the end, but there was no one known you could have paid deliberate for the other one. People whinging about Danger, but they were not free kicks against him. Would give Razor and Parnell both 9/10.

Did pretty well considering no Duncan, Taylor, Henderson and S.Selwood. If we had our 4th best player, tagged and our 2 best backmen, I have no doubt the result would have been different. Well done Hawthorn - took the opportunity when Geelong was vulnerable.

umpiring in the 2nd half of that last quarter was the most bias I have seen in recent memory.

Dangerfield clearly holding the ball. Tom Mitchell had hit head decapitated Mortal Kombat style. Umpires were hellbent on not giving Hawthorn the ball in a stopped situation. Did they want Geelong to win? or did they just not want Hawthorn to be able to slow the game down with kick to kick? I don't know, but whatever it is, there is something very strange about the ending to that games. Umpires are clearly under some kind of direction.

There was also that set shot at goal, where Stewart had clearly got too close to the player taking his shot and he missed as a result, Leigh and co commentating all mentioned it. Swings and roundabouts, for neutrals it was a great game to watch.

Some were missed no doubt - no one cares what I think but the masses need to get over this insane focus on the umpiring. It wasn't bad.

Pffft spare us, Rioli was given a free ride up until 2016. I’ve literally seen him duck his head into Nathan Jones, reel back and be awarded a free kick. Jones actually smirked it was that stupid.

With 10 minutes left the free kick count was 20-18 in Geelong's favour, it ended up 27-19.... Don't even get me started on how many times Geelong players dropped the ball or got tackled without disposing with prior opportunity.

The absolute cherry on top was when the umpire neglected the much talked about '10 meter protected area' on the kick that went into Roughead at the end of the game. A Geelong player ran within 2 meters of the person kicking the ball, and the umpire said nothing. Granted you don't want a game decided because of a decision like that, but it was the clearest one of the round and they just left it.
