The second part of the latter sentence horribly contradicts the first.Umpiring was fine. Let the game go and give the benefit of the doubt to the player making the play.
Spot on , the umpires are the directors of desired outcomes and close finishes .Who by ?, the afl???....their the ones behind it.
It's called manufacturing a close finish
A 'couple' of decisionsProbably shouldn’t have been as close as we were. Agreed. Mind you, being One rotation down probably saw you run out of legs. I’d suggest that was more une impetus for the comeback rather than a couple of decisions. Enjoy the spoils.
It was a poor kick. Just as roughy, another club captain, had a shocker from 15 out. Drop them both I say.Who said anything about costing them? Even if he’d hit the kick, a lot still would have had to go right for you to win. All I said was surely it’s not good enough from a club captain
Loving the melt down. More please! You know why... they got to the hecken footy first you campaigner...Free kick count was even into the final qtr. You are going to complain about umpiring all year long be happy you won instead of being a soft **** supporter. 6 Goals to the cats in last qtr Hawks 3...but you got over the line so stop being a weak unit.
We smashed one of the best sides in terms of intensity in the competition literally last finals series.
Good call both these sides will get better as year goes on... Geelong's defense not quite there and Hawthorn not too far away either...obviously Rioli can get better?Hate to say it but the Hawks will feature in the finals this year and they will scare teams. They just know how to win.
Burgoyne going down early didn´t stop them. Their rebuild has taken less than a year with recruits like Mitchell, Impey and O´Meara
set become stars for the club to offset the losses of Mitchell, Lewis & Hodge. Much to like about them at the moment but alot more to hate about them
as time goes on.
Umpiring was fine. Let the game go and give the benefit of the doubt to the player making the play.
The fact that you're all desperate for Hawthorn to win seems to have led to some collective delusion about the umpiring.
It's an interesting phenomenon.
Hawthorn were desperate to hold on, and were overstepping the line in terms of the rules of the game. Go back and watch again in the cold light of day and you'll find the umpiring was pretty good.
we are talking about Geelong, and your nutty coach.
I’d welcome more input if it’s not beyond you.A 'couple' of decisions![]()

Probably at the same time as Puopolo, Sicily, and that other Hawks player who dropped liked he'd been punched in the stomach when Selwood picked up the ball for his first free. And how long before Selwood gets picked for the Australian cricket team?
Geelong lucky to get as close as they did. Won't get near the Hawks next time around.
Yours is the Melt because you carry on like a loser even tho you won...HAHALOLLoving the melt down. More please!
Any specific incidents?AKA Gary Dangerwood Jr gets to bring his own rulebook.
Great comeback. More please!Yours is the Melt because you carry on like a loser even tho you won...HAHALOL
Our nutty coach has a 13-6 record against the angry ant. How is your nutty coach going?![]()
You guys were crucified that game ... absolutely no doubt .I find it humorous the absolute outrage at this umpiring effort considering both teams were getting frees, albeit one team more than the others. Is this the part where I call people sooks, tell them to suck it up, justify it with comments like the harder team at the ball gets the frees?
Now just imagine, say in a Grand Final, a similar thing happening. Only this time one team only receives 1 free kick across three quarters of football. Now that would be an outrage right? If there was no inquiry after the 2016 GF nothing will change.
It’s not even the kick itself I’m alluding to really. It’s more the decision to just pick it up and hack it out of the area blindly without even looking when he had time and short options available. It was a poor kick. Just as roughy, another club captain, had a shocker from 15 out. Drop them both I say.
