Sometimes the passing of a baton could be better.

Here DenieD (inside lane) 'passes' the baton of Gumbies captaincy to Falconista.

Other times, it is smoother than a freshly waxed and moisturised body.


Which is the case on Sunday as Gumbies legend StFly takes the baton and officially becomes the outright games record holder at the club when he takes the field in match 378. In the process StFly will pass his season 16 premiership co-captain and dear acquaintance peterss.

CAREER IN SHORT:
StFly debuted in season 12 and became a key figure on the field (FOUR CONSECUTIVE all-SFA's if you don't mind), in club ranks as a leader and in the wider league as a damn good poster. By season 14, captaincy came a calling culminating in leading the Gumbies to the promised land for premiership number one in season 16. Seasons 18-23 saw StFly take an absence from the league to attend to much more important real world matters but by season 24, he was back in the double blue and as good as ever. Recent seasons have seen StFly's match thread output drop to a teasing trickle, however as needed, he still has that sharp wit and ability to post like a pro.
