It disappointing to hear skill execution is still a major issue.

I’m not going to delve into which players are elite, good, average or poor kicks. If the majority of the list can’t hit relatively easy targets on a regular basis, then that’s on the coaching staff.
No, its on recruitment staff. Coaches can only have them on the park 3 x 1.5 hr sessions a week, its cant be on the coaches.

Make that 4 and I heard Lynch saying "if you need to kick it low and flat, then that's not an option. Give it time and air, is just a passing kick."

The plot thickens...
Which is good advice for Chom or any other player who isn't in the top 5% elite kicks.

If you have to punch it flat to pull the kick off then it's not a kick that you should be making in the back half of the ground.

“cant remember…”

lol
Lol everyone else remembers "verbatim" what was said over the fence some distance away.

Careless Chinese Whispers would be a more accurate description of what's going on.

FWIW, I wasn't there, but extrapolating how I feel about the whole situation - move Comben forward FFS. Get him the flip out of 'Harms Way' and into an attacking position which we sorely lack and have absolutely no alternatives, as it stands. It's in effect, the easiest call we will ever have to make.

After watching Goad and Finnbar trouble him this pre season, I’m starting to agree.

I really hope the only factor preventing this change is injury concern. Otherwise, it's a brilliantly creative way to shoot ourselves in the foot. Who cares if he can't kick for goal. He'll score some of em, he's not at Finnbar levels

Of course you are, you often have displayed common sense.

It's a no brainer. We can dance around the issue all we want, I'd rather he make senseless errors in the forward half as he is a definite talent.

Chom hasn’t shown much as a forward yet and not saying he won’t but let’s not make it hes the second coming of Carey.

I’d like to look at Chom in defence with Logue and corr there to take the KPF’s , so Chom can intercept

As an interceptor he’s obviously good.

So alongside Corr and Logue will be interesting.

But his ability to defend is concerning.

Even the best intercepters defend pretty well now. Gone are the days where the interceptor could get away just sitting off a medium forward and intercepting at will.

Comben has shown even less defending one on one prowess than he has playing as a forward.

I thought he looked good for the small amount he was played there.
