Scott - inaccurate
Hardeman - inaccurate
Goater - inconsistent
McKercher - inconsistent
Wardlaw - inconsistent
Jy - too loose. Kicks it like an Indian rubber man
LDU - arcs too high
Tucker - arcs too high
LMac - nonsense bombs
X - doesn't look
Fisher - worst is terrible
Arch - needs decent margin for error

Yeah, you know what. Duck might be right here. Where we differ is that I don't think the woman abusing prick who refuses to learn his lesson is the solution, but the premise is hard to argue with
I like the term "Nonsense Bomb!" Might use it here more.

OOC story... Littlest Hazey comes in from her first day of grade 1 and tells us she made friends with a new girl and her name was 'Nonsense!' We were like "that can't be her name," but she was so adamant for 24hrs. Turns out the girls name was Patience.

In a sense, both answers are correct.

I was overseas too. Ended up at Arden St. Ball movement was good at times. Fast but players looked around first and made short kicks. Even Lmac was hitting 25m passes out of the backline.

They moved the ball quickly but didn't rush, instead looked and took options.

Most of the rest had been covered but the mids were working hard into space and looking for each other. Not taking the hack from a pack option.

That caught my eye. Looked different to last year. The rest has been covered.

I trust your eye more than most and look forward to seeing this evolution in the game plan for myself.

Anyone have any training reports from today?

And before any smart-arses jump up and say "there was no training" I will reiterate that isn't the point, we still need reports.
Much better than yesterday in that there were less skill errors. No targets were missed (or were aimed at, .....
or were there.)

LDU was standing in the middle of the oval, the Marketing Department had gone to get coffees, the Media Department were moving their cars and there weren't any other players there to pat him on the back. Worst of all nobody from Big Footy was there to confuse LDU with Sausage George and wrongly report that LDU had signed his 7 year contract extension.

I haven't seen pre season training since 2017. It was miles ahead of that yesterday.

Players were looking for options and guys like Will Phillips were working hard to find space and make those options.

There were poor skills but also very good ones. We looked to get it CDs hands alot and his kick to Darling in the middle of a pack was cm perfect.

I think he will be our most important recruit because his kicking is elite. So he is important cos we need that on field but also cos he will drive standards off field. He will be a great example imo.

That's good to hear. Having the entirety of Champion Data on our team should mean that we overwhelm teams by pure weight of numbers

Get the feeling the boys will get to understand how strong JD is and start kicking in his area - to the advantage of him owning the space. Takes time.

Did you see Lynch working with Daniel and Comben after the match sim? “It’s got to be quick and flat, Chom, otherwise there’s no point….”

Any info on teakle , hardeman , urqs thanks.
Position playing and how they went
Teakle was bit parts, much the same as last year. You forget that he's out there then he bobs up and does something and then goes invisible again. Forward then ruck.

Hardeman is all class. Needs more development but is tracking nicely. Interrupted first season didn't help. Give him time. He's got all the tools. Half back.

Urqs as I said last week is well ahead of where he should be or could have been expected given his draft position. Competes really well and wins contests rather than halving them. Tackling is a feature as well. Mid/fwd and had more than a few CBAs.

Still not sure. I saw him this week and the previous two, all match sims.

Week one: A
Week two: C first half, B+ second half
Week three: B-
Has been better than last year but has plenty of competition. Starts in the VFL for mine but there's a role for him if he's good enough.

Probably competing with Konstanty at the moment and maybe just shading him but JK has looked great though.

That was right infront of me and it was the complete opposite

Lynch was imploring comben to give the ball more air. He said it’s just a switch Chom you don’t need to dart it in. Said it like 10 times multiple different ways

No. I had to leave before 11. That's good to hear tho.

I did notice a fair bit of low flat kicking and often it was to the spot where players on the move would be a few moments later. Not to flat footed players. I hope that is something we see this season cos it would be a three to six goal turn around (ie three less goals from turnovers and up to three more goals to us.)

Lol. I hope the players aren't as confused as the spectators.

Conflicting reports on Hardeman. All class or can't kick? What will it be?

Can’t remember who was questioning how much training our guys do in this thread, but whoever it was should read this article.

Powell wouldn’t be alone. Every single player on the list would have a tailored development program just for them. That would take a ton of work by the staff. Obviously a lot still hinges on the individuals professionalism though.

“I know when I'm out there running the time trial, doing it on some shitty oval in Adelaide”

It’s no Arden Street, that’s for sure
