What are Moyles above average attributes other than his bulk?

I wouldn’t say his bulk is one. He is tall, great at giving his mids an advantage with his taps, gets a lot of clearances and decent territory, and has started to really hit the scoreboard and mark at VFL level. He has never looked “lumbering” to me

You post some good stuff but you're not on the money with Moyle. He's better than what you say and can't get a game ahead of one of the premier ruckman in the game

In the case of losing Cameron, none of those three at this rate would be even close to covering that loss. Given Steene & Smit are still only middling VFL rucks, I’m not holding my breath

It’s not (which is why I never said it), but I think your perspective is narrow. DC covers for our key backs a lot by dropping into the hole, so you’d need to bring in a star KPD to offset that loss and Howe’s, whenever that occurs.

Very short term.

If Cox retires, we haven't got any back up that is AFL standard or even particularly close yet - we'll have to pick up a mature journeyman ruck at the least. I'm hoping he plays on.

Hoping and expecting Cox to play one more year. He’s a single LTI to a number of players away from playing every game for us.

That would give us one more year to either line up a replacement for Cameron should he choose to leave at the end of his contract or hopefully for Steene to become ready.

Hopefully McCarthy can develop into the Ruck/Forward to replace the Cox/McStay role more directly, too.

All young recruits are picked up due to traits because the club considers them a chance to develop into AFL standard - a big percentage of them don't get there though.
