The feeling at the time was that Ed had slipped through to us, and that his back injury meant he had gone lower than expected.
Rumour also has it that we were originally planning to take Jakob Ryan with that pick - we still got him with our second pick.

I think there were a couple of Dekka drafts where we over-cooked our recruiting criteria towards running ability. I think he might have been instructed to go that way.

In fairness, there wasn't much around the Allen pick, little Jones went at 21 and gruzewski was around also. There was really no one around the Ryan pick.

Yeah. Not a deep draft. Probably worth punting on a couple of top runners and seeing if they could develop the rest of their games. Both still a chance to do so.
