The concerning area of development we're missing would be key backs. With Moore almost 30, Howe 34 it leaves us really thin in the coming years.

A few ready made options I really like that are starved of opportunities are James Blanck, Nick Murray and Caleb Graham.

Happy to hear out other options, but these are all relatively cheap, around about 24yo and could really bolster us down back.

Team,

I think most of the chat on here is midfield heavy which despite Ned Long playing well on the weekend it is still warranted to talk midfield.

One thing I worry about is our key defensive stocks and who we have as a Darcy Moore replacement.

Joel Cochran does look to play similar to Moore but seems like he is going to take the 2nd tall.

Charlie West looks promising and maybe could play both ends in a Steven May type role.

An obvious one would be SDK is the obvious one but we need to look at a Moore replacement or at the least a developing type like Connor O'Sullivan.

I like James Borlase too alongside Murray at the Crows, even if the former has had a rough start to this year.

Those Tigers KPDs (Blight & Miller) intrigue me too.

Busslinger, O'Donnell, Aleer, Derksen, Worrell (looks pretty happy at the crows but they also have Curtin playing forward)

Young players who might be gettable when out of contract - Will Dawson, Noah Mraz, Hustwaite (maybe he can play back, I think it is where he played in his draft year)

Anyone hearing talk about Trac to Collingwood?

I can’t imagine how it could even be remotely possible, especially given the points we need for F/s + nga.
Would we absorb a salary dump?
We can't do it unless something extraordinary happens. It needs to be an even more extreme Grundy deal maybe with Petracca taking a big cut on top to play for his boyhood club. It's a small chance at best.

Would be over the moon with Aleer, but think St Kilda will outbid us

A lot will depend on how Frampton and Howe play this year. If they have good seasons and Howe plays on,l we might not be an attractive landing spot for those mid career blokes looking for immediate opportunity.

Honestly with how unhappy he looks it wouldn’t surprise me if he was willing to do a Cloke type deal and take a pay cut to escape that place.

We might have 3 potential top 30 academy players- I can’t see how we can trade for anyone. Maybe find someone that’s a FA
Fixed that for you. Let’s not get too carried away this early in the season. Unless Tommy pushes up to top 10, matching bids shouldn’t be prohibitively difficult, and there will inevitably be some player movement that could get us extra points.

We will find a way to make it work. Busy off season it will be to make sure we accumulate more picks.

He is a lumbering Darcy of Freo where the benchmark is Jackson.
We need at least a DC equivalent or we’re going backwards.
What? These are all comparisons to players who are very different to Moyle.

It’s going to be hard to get “at least a DC equivalent” when he’s arguably the best ruck in the competition at the moment, if he decides to leave.

Nobody thought DC himself would be able to so capably replace / outdo what Grundy did for us years ago, and yet here we are.

What are Moyles above average attributes other than his bulk?
