Its really starting to feel like the chances of us making out are getting slimmer by the day?

The strategy was lined up last year when we started flipping into this year. Quite possibly the players knew it too. The guys that left had nothing else to prove and changing clubs is just topping up the superannuation policy.

This year was just the implementation of last year's plan. Next year we'll rort the top end of the draft again and blind freddy can see someone like short will put their hand up to get traded out and presto, another end of first or second round pick gets thrown our way.

Then we are flush for young talent. Tassie **** the next two drafts while we steal free agents and win another 3 flags.

Its a three year strategy but its incredibly simple. You really need the balls to trade out of a draft and hope the members don't revolt.

This is what the bombres should have done post 2000. Instead they tore the club apart. **** em.

We're doing a gws style trading/Drafting.
Each year we trade out a player of value o for a rnd 1 pick too keep the list refreshed.
Be interesting who we put up next year.

two key things that our premiership heroes had in common were 1. They were TOUGH and BRAVE and LOVED the contest, 2. They wanted to WIN. Dusty, Cotchin, astbury, grimes, vlaustin, baker, lynch, jack, lambert, nank etc. we may have overlooked some more talented players in the draft last week but most of our new draftees have these two things I reckon. Thats what win grand finals (and most importantly prelims because they are the toughest to win I reckon)

And this is exactly why you don't gut your list too deeply, and why the presence of Hopper and Taranto in particular is so critical.

Imagine being a young bloke and coming into a club where the likes of Prestia, Lynch, Tigger and Nank are leading the way on the training track and setting the standards on and away from match day. With Taranto doing what he does in time trials etc.

It's glorious.

If 2 of these kids can become a graders, and 2 B to B+ is gonna go a long way in setting up our next run for for the flag. Great that so many of them already know eachother pretty well - won’t need to manufacture any chemistry as it’s already there

They’re all A graders. I’m with KB we will win minimum of four flags in the next 8 years

Even just the preseason is gonna be awesome seeing them build, really hope the media team is going to be working over time with training clips etc

We have our KPP and game breakers. All we need now is midfielders. We should get a really good one next year Then there will always be good midfielders who are starved of opportunities and are ready to change clubs. We have been smart and built our list KPP first.
