The thing is there was no better deal available

Only other thing we could have done was to use the picks in getting deals done for Rioli , Bolton & Baker
which we didnt need to do in the end and received the best possible result without the picks

If we still held the picks all we would have been doing is trying to off load them by using the picks to move up some of the later picks which really wouldn't have been possible either.

Sure i think we also over paid slightly at the time thinking why did we need to involve #32 but when the Melbourne news broke and they had 1600+ points on the table it all made sense on why we had to pay 2000 points
So if Melbourne did the deal, then they couldn’t do the Essendon deal.

Yeah, you see, I do not think 8 is equal to 15+16.

Do not think GWS give up 15+16 for Pick 8.

What if it is 16+21

8 to GWs for 16+21
7+16 to nth for 2
saints 2+21 to the draft?
West Coast fans mentioned GWS knocked back trading up for pick 3 with 15 and 16 which suggest they will stick with their picks. More likely to trade out a pick for a F1.

really?

It makes sense to me for GWS to go with 3 kids on cost controlled contracts. They have lots of high end talent, a tight salary cap and right in their window.

My draft wish list has changed since doing more research.

2 of Lalor, Langford and Hynes would be nice! Tall mid/forwards that can mark and kick goals and also seem to play with a bit of aggression.
Then an aggressive tall forward who can develop under lynch, a key defender and a classy mid (Lindsay ideally). I’d also like to take Hotton.

take 6 picks, trade out at least 2 into next year.

Just go to the draft with pick 2. Take best available which you will and it will be another midfielder..which doesn't address your key position problems...if you were keen on taking Tauru at 2 you wouldn't be offering the pick up ..
Rawlings has stuffed up here and you know it .. personally I'd prefer to keep our picks as is as I think the top 7 players are pretty even and we'll get 2 of them regardless ...another thing I'd personally like is if you half dozen roo supporters pissed off to St failures board and pestered them for awhile about how much you would like them to pay for a pick they haven't asked for
This is their one magical moment of relevancy. Having draft picks (either from being crap or being gifted to them by the AFL) is the only time Norf has gravitas. Obviously they don’t want to waste it

But yeah them demanding the world from other clubs to resolve a problem of their own making is kind of funny albeit tedious. Personally I hope they are forced to keep pick 2.
