If Melbourne are so keen to move up and the cats are open to trading their 1st pick maybe we should look at -
3 to Melbourne for 6, 11 and their future first
11 and 18 to Geelong for 8
So essentially -
Out - 3
In - 6, 8 Dee's future 1st
Left with -
3, 6, 8, 15, 17 and an extra 1st next year.
I’d rather just get the cats pick 8 by giving up 15 and 17

There’s no need for us to help Melbourne especially when they are our only competition for pick 1

The cats aren't giving up 8 for 15 and 17.
If we're offering 11 and 18 they are getting an extra 1st round pick to slide back 3 places and still potentially get the player they want.
If we take the dees 6, 11 and future 1st next year they will only be left with 3 and late picks. How could they turn that into 1??

15 and 17 should get 8 fairly easily

No one will offer more

If trade guru Tom Morris is suggesting we go for Dougal Howard, i'm doubling down, thanks but no thanks

Welcome back Nostra. I can't see Geelong agreeing to that unfortunately.

They are looking for 2 late firsts to split their pick 8 and give them more than 1 decent pick

I can’t see any club beating that offer and they’d take it

Bulldogs offered 3 firsts including their future to get into that top 8 players. There will be a team offering way overs to get pick 8. We would probably need to offer 15, 17 and future 2nd to get close to getting pick 8.

They went for pick 4

Pick 8 is a big drop off from that

If we take the 5 first round picks to the draft then we're gonna have to delist mahoney and bonar. We've had 8 senior players gone. Stephens Fisher pink nyuon and George added to senior list so currently only 3 spots left.
10 if you include Mackay and Goldy..and possibly a few more.

I’m a fan of Lochie O’Brien - laser left foot, high end runner. Even if we use him for depth, those are two traits that we absolutely lack. Leagues better than Dan Howe who we just delisted*.

But the guns are in the top 5/6

2 top 3 is gold

I don’t have the exact numbers in front of me right now hellas, but we definitely have more than 3 main list spots open at the moment. And it will depend on how many picks we take to the draft, but personally I’d delist Bonar regardless. Not against Mahony getting another year if that’s the way it falls.

We've just gotten Stephens and Fisher for those roles. Focus now should be on medium defenders and non-medium forwards
