There’s really about Owens’ game that resembles Jack Gunston. Really strange observation.

He's sort of like Jeremy Cameron in that he can play both forward as a true scoring threat and move into the midfield as well but not really like him either. He's a unique player. More like a tall forward version of Dusty maybe?

On the couch highlighting the ranking players for post clearance contested ball numbers (contested possessions outside of stoppage work)

#1 in the league is our boy Mitchito

number bloody 1. unfortunately they didnt put the numbers up to see by how far.
Imagine how well he’d be going if he wasn’t suffering from those bloody 2nd year blues 😳

Holding pattern for intriguing Saints

St Kilda loom as one of the more interesting clubs to follow in the coming months, with Stephen Silvagni and Graeme Allan sure to be working feverishly behind the scenes.

The Saints remain ruckman Tom De Koning’s likeliest destination if he chooses to request a trade from Carlton, but they also have several interesting players out of contract.
Among them are Jack Higgins – whose management team began negotiations in the past month – fellow first-round draft picks Hunter Clark, Nick Coffield and Liam Stocker, Zak Jones, Ryan Byrnes and, of course, high-profile restricted free agent Jade Gresham.

Stocker and Byrnes have played every match this year and are set to score contract extensions, but Coffield has not played a senior game since round 23, 2021. A pre-season ACL rupture wiped out his 2022 season, and a persistent calf injury has sidelined him this year.
Discussions on a new deal for the top-10 draftee are yet to start, according to a source, while Clark, who is averaging career-best numbers with more midfield exposure, wanted to become a Kangaroo last year – but was held to his contract.
Gresham has so far resisted the temptation to explore his options, of which there would be many, and the parties opened dialogue during St Kilda’s mid-season break.

Crap year for Coffield to need to negotiate.

It was interesting that Ross said he thought that the team was currently playing to its full potential. I suspect there will be some big list changes this off-season.
Close to full potential, anyway.
Thought that was a very interesting comment.
They know what has to be done list-wise.
