You can get this from mature aged state players and poaching from other clubs.
You're bringing the older guys on for leadership and improvements in training standards and culture around the club.

If someone is good enough, sure.

If you think bringing in Pendlebury, Hurn or Boak will fix us in any way, it's not that is me that is crazy mate.

We are well past that, we need leadership from within and growth, and not wasting $$ and list spots to guys who are finished.

I’d trade in Boak at Essendon tomorrow if I could. A bloke who’s gotten every ounce out of himself, exactly the kind of player a bottom four list would benefit from.

FWIW I think most of the best trade targets for North would be guys Essendon would also target; Hopper or Taranto out of GWS, and Dev Robertson out of Brisbane.

We desperately need on field leadership, someone who can come in and command respect and have the authority to give on field direction.
Some 25 year old isnt going to have enough experience to overcome the outsider tag and lead.

No we don't and if we did why did we give away Tarrant?

We have made a huge mess and the way to fix it is with youth and talent not old campaigners as it will simply waste opportunity for someone else.

Hodge and birchill to Brisbane, Ellis to GC as starters.

Also I didn't say zurhaar was a leader at the club, I said that he's someone who's form has slumped and should be pushed by the 'leaders' at the club.
LDU as captain? He's doing well on field but that doesn't automatically mean he's signed up to the push the others around him. Is there any evidence of him actually wanting the job or examples of coaching staff saying he's pushing the others do better or have you just made that up too?

Huge success on these appointments hey.

Neither of those clubs have won a ****ing thing since then and I don't believe it is that hard to understand.

Tarrant one of the most overrated players in my time watching the club.

Was just a good player, in a terrible defence. And that period of goodness was 6 years into his career.

It’s as if some people don’t even watch the ****ing games, he was regularly towelled up when we needed him. Regularly.

He was half as good as Micky and played on absolute cats in comparison.

Didn’t want to be here, left us when he could have signed. Enough rewriting history.

Mick Martyn was very good I agree.

You are massively underselling Tarrant. (did the 6 goals against us by Hawkins and zero for Tigers escape you?)

He is a gun backman, why do you think the Tigers wanted him?

I care more about the opinion of a cell of AIDS than I do your opinion on anything.

But in true dickhead style, you cherry pick one performance and not for us either.

Ben McKay has done better jobs in much weaker sides.

A good football story, but overrated, Scotty Thompson much much better.

Thank you UG.

Yes, others said the same thing to me ironically about you being a dickhead.

Tarrant is better than McKay. In future, McKay may indeed be better.

You honestly think bringing a Hurn or Boak will improve our training standards?

It's not their role to do so, it is on the coaches to ensure that occurs hence clean them out and continue to build a young talented list.
Don't know what is the true situation regarding training. Can't remember if it's based on verifiable fact or just media speculation.

Assuming that out training standards are as bad as implied, I agree that it says a great deal about our current coaches if basic and necessary standards aren't being maintained.

How about this radical idea - you and the group have exactly what's expected spelt out to you. You're not selected if you don't meet those standards.

What's the worst thing that could happen - we start loosing matches by 50+ points?

Not sure Hurn would pack up his life and move to Melbourne for a year or 2.

He strikes me as someone who would have his ducks in a row regarding after footy business and the like.

Playing another year or 2 in the short term whilst transitioning into a development coaching and eventually an assistant role would be the sell.
