3 time premiership player with great training standards and fantastic leadership vs a guy who took months to get upto form who almost didn't turn up this year.
Yeah idk why we'd want him either.
That's one side of the argument, the other side is of course this…

I'd argue that Jed offers us more on & off field than Shiels because with stats like that Liam isn't offering us anything on field.

Jed needs to be a leader within our young group.
Not listening to our doctors when he is constantly in our rehab group is poor form. He has done his dash I reckon. Give me a bloke who has great training standards every day of the week not someone who shows up a month late because he has opinions.

You cant really compare players who play different roles on pure stats.

Jed attended 24.8% of CBAs whilst Shields attended 0.3%.

Jed had his best year ever and didn't get a contract.
Says a lot about how much the club values him

Just get stocker on the rookie list

And J Walker or Stein as KPP depth
John Candy No GIF by Laff

No other team has offered him a primary list spot either as it stands.

Im sure he'll get a rookie contract somewhere and that could be North if he doesnt find a more tempting deal elsewhere.
He’ll get a gig only in GC to ironically play the role greenwood did for them

Yeah I mean that’s the danger in making decisions based purely on stats, isn’t it. You could be someone completely naive and think that Jed had a great year whilst thinking Shiel had a stinker never starting as sub.

There’s a reason why clubs aren’t lining up for the services of Tom Mitchell & Jed Anderson.

I’m not making the decision purely based on facts, just using that to illustrate that IMO Jed had a good year and can offer us similar output next year and is worthy of considering for a rookie spot that’s all.

You and others obviously think Shiels is more worthy of rookie spot and that’s fine each to their own but exactly the same thing can be said; there’s a reason why clubs aren’t lining up for the services of Liam Shiels.

I disagree that he had a good year, but each to their own.

Spot on. There will be clubs that need Jed’s onfield attributes & clubs that need Liam’s offfield attributes. We fall into the latter IMO.

Im coming around to this Liam Shiels rookie recruitment.

Obviously he'd add alot of leadership and experience and drive on the training track. Do we expect him to play every game? Nah, but if his vfl form forces it, then yeh sure.

I honestly think that Jed would fit in perfectly, at Sydney. They need another hard campaigner, with Kennedy retiring.
