I'm including Meek in the going out that get's what I listed.

Approaching it as a net thing (and I think this is going to make people unhappy), I think the best case scenario is like;

Out: 1st, Lobb, Logue, Meek, Tucker, Acres
In: Jackson, 19, Sharp, 30

It's likely going to be worse than that tbh.
Seems about right, maybe with a little bit of change. As an avowed Jacksonian, I rate this as a win.

What makes you think a WAFL coach knows any more than anyone else?

He can give his opinion, but I suspect he has never been invited to consider Lobb's role in his Peel side

If this is true he should be fired immediately.
It would seem very strange that Lobb would be so upset to miss the team meeting if it was known he would have a chance of getting traded. I'm pretty sure Bell would have said something more like 'We told Lobb he was contracted and we would only trade him if a deal that we thought benefited the club was made'.

Bell doesn’t posture. It’ll be overs for Lobb, so first rounder or stays

What ever we get for Acers will be used to get Sharp so I think it’s irrelevant.

Logue will be the PP so minimum would be 19. Hopefully higher!

Tucker is a future 3rd or hopefully a sweetener in the Logue trade

Meek - a lot will depend on what happens with Lobb, if he stays the club should allow him to explore options

If this does happen to be the case,

I’d consider offering 13 , 19 , F2 for Jackson. Probably values him more than he’s worth, but it’s right in the middle. And more than the scums going to offer.
Hold the future 1st

Logue will be a free agency compensation pick, either end of 1st round or 1st.round if he really is getting a 5 x 700k contract.

Spoke to Geoff Valentine today (Peel coach) - says Lobb is out the definitely door but the club is just trying to get a deal they’re happy with but he will go to the Dogs. Meek is also likely gone once Jackson gets here. I’d love to see us target both Sharp and Riccardi as well as bring in Jackson and that’s a big tick in my eyes
Thanks for the information, but probably best not to reveal your specific sources on here.

I wasn't sure where to post this, but I want to raise a glass to Bailey Banfield. Banfield actually signed a two year deal with the club recently. Tonight, Bailey (and let's just assume he handles his own social media) made the effort to 'like' every positive post people contributed to him and his re-signing. It's a small thing, but it's really a big thing to do for his fans. He's not the most talented, or the most popular, but that guy truly bleeds purple. Banfield is humble, and has always accepted he so often gets the role of 'sub'. He hasn't gone out seeking $$ or the admiration of other clubs.

Some weeks Banfield can be a super star, and other weeks he can frustrate the shit out of us.

I've promised myself I wont buy a Banfield badge and jinx him like I've done to Hogan, Blakely, Bewley, Acres and ohhh so many others!

Going forward, it's the Banfields of the club who make me proud to be a Freo supporter.

Bailey posted a photo of himself with Son Son celebrating a goal and wrote, "Signed til 2024 - stoked to have the chance to keep building with this group and the Freo family".

The most important words being have the chance.

I hope Banfield has more on field opportunities this year, and I hope he really shines!

Having had a bit of a read up on him, I'm not sure Sharp will make it. No contested game and possible application issues. Sam Flanders would be my target from GC. Has some serious form in the VFL including 40+ touches in both weeks of finals.

Mundy & Corey to work with him next year, sort him right out.
Can’t see GC wanting to lose Flanders.

Good on him, he could have wanted a trade for further opportunities but he signed on.

I don't like the stick he cops at certain times on this board.

His family have also done so much for the club (financially), and he's an amazing ambassador. I used to believe Logue was one of our greatest ambassadors, but think Banfield has been overlooked for that role. You never hear of him complaining, and he is always smiling!

Could go ok. Shown promise at stages.
I do like the east freo heritage..
Face it, we aren't going to ever win A premiership without soMe more east freo in the team..

I really must be the only one who likes Tucker in here. People carry on like he's Jackson Nelson.

But then again people here complained when we delisted Tobe Watson

From memory Tucker and Conca were the 2 players Fyfe thanked in his Brownlow speech for unrewarded 2 way running.

Tucker's recent form hasn't been great though, a fresh start might be good for everyone.

If Bell is playing poker, surely what he’s fishing for is other Victorian clubs to join the party. If we are to take Colin Young at face value, Lobb’s reason for going is to be with his partner, so which club shouldn’t matter beyond their ability to pay his salary. At the moment the only club in the race is not offering enough. This simply signals to other clubs that they are open to offer more.

How many clubs are going to offer a 30 year old pea heart $500,000pa though?

Banfield is the new Matt deBoer. Handy role player but tough as nails, smart, a work horse and a great clubman. Someone that even if he's not in the 23 on match day is an asset. Pav has said that getting rid of some core players in Mayne, deBoer, Clancee, Silvagni, Barlow, Mzungu, etc all in one hit really hurt the club culturally.

His high school graduation score of 98.25% (IIRC?) is insanely high also, probably the smartest guy in the AFL?

Man, can a one year retired player be a blast from the past?

That first laser pass (was it a preseason game?) it just felt like we might have found another one, not to be but thanks for your service Bewley.

You guys are cooked.

the full character assassinations of our players is a bit…off, tbh.

if Logan McDonald announced he wanted to come to Freo your hand would be on your zippers quicker than Wyatt Earp could draw a gun

I thought they had debunked that Wyatt Earp was that good with a gun? - wasn't it his brother Virgil who was actually the skilled one? I also thought that Wyatt had only been in one "battle" before the OK. Corrall gun fight, and that it is likely that Doc Holliday was the first one to shoot (the unarmed man) Tom McLaury in that battle at close range? Bunch of thugs anyway.
How many clubs are going to offer a 30 year old pea heart $500,000pa though?
Everyone was talking about how Collingwood could really take the next step if only the had an actual tall forward. They also employ one De Gooey, so employing a pea heart couldn't be too much of a stretch.
