Has something happened to him?
Not really

I’m guessing the poster is referring to Scully being left out the state trials game (but plenty of players got left out the vic trials as well)

Or they’re referring to posters on the draft board dropping Scully down their boards, which is probably a reaction to him not kicking 5 goals on tassie (or was it an allies side I forget)

Chances are he probably wont go first round anyway, but he's still playing well.

I can see him being the third wheel behind Lemmey and Keeler for the state team and maybe they just wanted to trial Brodie Tuck up there for that night and didn't want to go in with 4 key forwards.

Not having a good game against the Allies in what was some of the worst weather we've seen is neither here nor there.

I'd be stunned if he doesn't get at least a couple games at the Champs.

That seems odd given Scully played as the main man for the ‘Australia‘ team and to be honest I thought showed plenty. He’s skinny but moves well, finds space, marks at an extremely high point and has a reliable set shot.

I’d be absolutely thrilled to have Scully saddling up along side Marshall and Georgiades for the next decade.

I agree, me too

Yeah I certainly wasn’t agreeing with any of it, just articulating what I thought he was asking.

I would be amazed if Scully dropped outside of the first round. But I guess that’s the depth of the kpps this year. Other years where it’s shallower a team would certainly go very early imo.

I would have no complaints if he ended up at port with our first, though there’s probably a couple of players I would much prefer.

I do think Tom will be a project who will take a long while before we see his best at afl level.

William Dowling is pushing himself into AFL Draft calculations such have been his performances so far in 2022.

Better known as ‘Billy’, a self-confessed “big time Pies supporter”, the midfielder is racking up some big time numbers in the SANFL U18s with North Adelaide.

Dowling averages 31 disposals, six marks, six inside 50s, five tackles, almost five clearances and has kicked 10 goals across seven SANFL U18s appearances this season.

He admits he has been able to perform so well due to the footy education he is gaining from his Roosters coach and former Port Adelaide star Josh Francou.

“He’s a massive influence,” he told Kane Cornes and Andrew Hayes on SEN SA Breakfast.

Francou, who has served as an assistant coach at Gold Coast, Sydney and Adelaide, is not the only former Power player having an impact on Dowling.

Jacob Surjan is the head coach of the Roosters and his expertise, plus that of an AFL-experienced pair, has gone a long way to his development.

The decision to ruck foster over verrall is baffling to me? Is there something I’m missing?

I have seen a bit of this game. Its very windy and scrappy. Lemmey has been underwhelming from what I have seen. I like Fletcher and Gilbee from the allies.
I just put it on at the start of the 2nd half.

Lemmeys had a disappointing year, just hasn’t had any continuity at all. While he hasn’t got much result on the board he was threatening in that Qtr.

I said recently when people were critical of Scully for not tearing tassie apart that these type of expo games just never suit kfs.

Whatever the reason for it, inside mids come out of these games looking a million bucks and kpps regularly underperform.

Hell I would struggle to remember what kfs have had great champs over the past decade. It would be a very short list I would imagine

Macca19 do you remember many?

So I’m probably just looking for stuff that I think translates well I guess. I think lemmey gets more space (at the right club) to put his tools to use at afl level.

Keeler tho, I’ve liked his 3rd Qtr. He’s elevating himself in my eyes really.

And I think it comes down to keeler having more strings to his bow. He’s got the aerial reach, but he’s good in general play as well. And then he can impact in the ruck. It helps him get involved in a game like this, but it also bodes well for the future, cause he can use those strings at afl level to get involved and that’s something young kfs sometimes struggle with. Whereas I’m not sure lemmey has those other strings to bring himself into the game if his 1 wood isn’t firing

Lukosius x2, Jack Silvagni, Joe Daniher, Josh Schache come to mind. Thats about it though.

Not spending a top 5 on Lemmey from what I've seen , a bit of a plodder so far today. Has size and kick but not overly athletic or as mobile as what has been stated. Not sure if he is unfit or carrying something, would go Philipou or Keeler before him.
Don’t think we got a chance to see his speed, he’s genuinely fast off the mark..

Tho he’s obviously sliding, you can’t spend a high pick on a player who’s barely fired a shot in his draft year even if the talent is there.

There’s too many mids that would have climbed up the order as well lately I think.

For us I think it would be too hard to pass up on a few other players that could be at our pick.

Think if available at our pick, I'd go Philipou, could develop as a mid size forward then gradually move to midfield, just seems to scream AFL physical attributes.

I wouldn’t complain about that, though I do think his transition to afl midfielder might take some time, partly because he could be so handy forward he will spend a bit of time there.

My dream pick is Clark, but I think phillipou would be heavily considered by both Sa clubs.

Phillipou would really suit our side too. We need someone like him who can play both forward and mid, now that Rozee looks locked in as a mid

Anyone else you like?

Any key defenders? I’ve only seen highlights of Lewis Hayes, but he’s producing great numbers for a bloke 197cm tall.

You didn’t catch the game today did you? Keeler has me pretty convinced. As I said earlier, he has so many ways he can impact a game.

Snuck in about 10 minutes of viewing whilst at work. Keeler looked like a future star 2 years ago and not much has changed.

Still interested in Michaelaney but not sure we need another 192cm defender.

Depending where it falls, I can see us going a Tsatas or Clark with our first, with Phillipou around the mark as well.

Another elite young midfielder would top off our midfield nicely.
