Sorry if it has been mentioned already, but will play start 30 mins early to make up for lost time yesterday?

Good question isn't it spread out over 5 days so maybe 5 min early a day who knows.

If a pitch is very slow it's easier to negotiate the spin though it's nothing like spitting off the pitch spin in India, it was perfect for Usman with how late he plays it almost looked like slow motion.

Yet despite that if SL had any idea with DRS he'd have been out (plus was dropped by slip off a sitter too) and if they caught Smith second ball as they should have we'd have been into the relatively green middle to late order with no batting past Starc and calling Starc batting is generous as he's a 1 in 5 proposition not Cummins like

Those pitches make spinners useless, they are just as bad. Half the reason the Melbourne test was great was everyone played a role. You could get runs, the quicks got wickets, and the spinners had a role on day 5. That's what you want. This pitch is not dead anyway. They could easily have us 5 for 300, two DRS non reviews and dropping Smith second ball. It's harldy some Rajastan highway out there you have to bat patiently and put away the bad balls.

3-4 day tests are awful 9 times out of 10
😴

That's cricket though there was probably two decisions the umpires should be giving out live.

It really is amazing that cricket survived for 148 years

Hate to imagine some of these fans when 200-220 in a day was fantastic day out there. A team scores 300 ish and it's boring.

A variety of pitches is what makes the ability to win home and away tough. I sure as anything don't want Sydney pitches (this year) every test. This really is a typical SL pitch I'm not sure what the big deal is really. How about we wait till the second session today, we are only 2 wickets away from Carey striding out trying to reverse sweep every ball and there's no one behind Carey in the lineup,

One for me, and that was the Head one. I wouldn't have given the Lab one live myself, but happy enough that was one you don't lose a review on. The Khawaja nick was so fine, it's one you would barely notice and there were a few noises there, I won't call that a bad decision, just one that the technology would have picked up. Do feel if they didn't waste one against Head they may have gambled on a DRS there though (just a gut feel)

Wow, can't believe that many people watch that dribble

You ever look at some of the garbage your wife/girlfriend watches and wonder how she does it? MAFS is all of it rolled into one.

My wife is an incredibly smart woman, but she happily admits to watching 'trashy' television because it helps her switch her mind off.

I guess blokes have that with sport to an extent.

There is nothing more uniquely Australian than watching a dominant performance away from home and deriding the current players because cricket's not as strong as it used to be.

Yesterday was a bit odd, the praise for Usman seemed a bit disproportionate; I guess when someone is in a slump and they get runs people jump on it a bit but in between some really nice shots I thought it was a scratchy, and obviously very lucky innings.

At the other end people seemed almost nonchalant about Smith: to be honest he looked like, aside from what was just a careless shot that popped that early chance, he was playing against under 16s such was his control. Wasn’t due to the opposition it was just how ready he was.

I’ve turned into a, and I never thought I would say this, gym junkie since Christmas and my usual routine consists of a lot of using the same treadmill. Which unfortunately for me means a tv set to Channel 10, at the exact time I’m A Celebrity is on.

Even just with the subtitles it’s enough to make me want to f**king do myself physical harm

Sri Lanka are also unlikely to have a worse day than yesterday in the series and if they do they'll deserve to be smashed but we know they're better than this.

Cricinfo saying Smith played with 96% controlled. I can't check Head's but shows how locked in Smith is

Just frisbee a weight into the middle of the screen, you’ll be doing every e at the gym a favour.

Also, good for you Phat, long may it continue.
