...Ben Camporeale who will surprise many. Lord will step. Wilson likely to start at HB
We also have Docherty & Elijah. Love to see a fit CoreyDurdin in there as well at times. More leg speed and zip
I could see Smith easily play wing year one
It's a bloody good midfield. Better if we give...
Honestly, this triggered me.
Didn’t we grab like three? EVW, Durdin and Nielsen? We thought we were set. Surely at least one/two of those would be destined to be our pillars down back?
Tariek Newchurch?
Yeah, I couldn't agree more that pure small forwards are a high risk pick. If we wanted a small forward at pick 13 I'd be going with Dattoli. Brings more variety, x-factor and versatility over Berry who's a tad one dimensional and will struggle in midfield.
Im not gun ho in wanting Berry with pick 13 he just fills a need especially with Rioli and DBJ approaching 30 and SPP coming of an ACL.
I'd be happy with picking the next best talent besides a tall forward or Cooper Hynes with pick 13.
SPP and Rioli I no issues with in the forward line. I...
...Sa has had an abundance of dominant small forwards in juniors the last 10 years and very little to show for it. Pickett and who? Coreydurdin was tearing it up as a junior. ****, he wasn’t even playing juniors he was too good he was kicking goals against men, and how do you think he’s doing...
So the dogs bid on Darcy Moore at pick 5. In a fair system, he goes to the bulldogs and the Pies would have a choice between Duggan, Peter Wright, Ahern, Corey Ellis, Lachie Weller, Marchbank, Cockatoo, Lever, Garlett and Durdin. So the chances are that they are going to pick a spud. Not...
The silver lining from last year was that it showed the depth that we have at the club.
The selection committee should be bolder and back in the right mix for the opposition team, placing a bit more trust on the youth to allow them to shine :D
...time forward and the returning Jack Silvagni as talls. Sam Docherty then joins Zac Williams, Matt Cottrell, Lochie Fogarty, youngsters CoreyDurdin and Jesse Motlop, with veteran Orazio Fantasia rounding out options.
We may well need another small forward longer term, but I like the prospect...
When you consider the price for someone like Brayshaw coming in, you also need to consider who goes out.
When you bring in a top end player to a reasonably strong team or better it allows you to trim the list and free up salary.
I think we may be still looking to offload a midfielder or two at...
Sam was with North. Corey started with Carlton. We picked up Sam from the SANFL as a mid-season draftee because all of our talls had gone down.
1 game in 2023, then injured. 1 game in 2024, injured. Can't believe we didn't make a clean break already. Doubt he's the one getting the SSP spot.
...Also, apparently Billy Wilson is going to -play more of a midfield role in 2025. Billy has pace and run, both of which we need.
As for CoreyDurdin, he has another 12 months to demonstrate that he has what it takes. If he doesn't make in 2025, he could well be surplus to needs.
As to...
I remember seeing people freaking out on here before the Sydney game because Cottrell was out injured. He was a key piece of the team that made a prelim 13 months ago
Durdin I agree with, Cottrell was one of our best performers in the 2023 finals series. He's a quality player at his best and busts his ass, no issue with him being rewarded.
Think I could almost guarantee that Cotts in particular has signed a very basic contract for the sake of longevity. We clearly want to offset some of our mammoth contracts with a few budget ones. No doubt there would be a decent match payments component when he is playing in the ones, but I...
Jack Carroll is probably sitting at home thinking how hard done by he is for getting delisted when CoreyDurdin was given a 2 year contract and Matthew Cottrell was given a 3 year contract. If this club wants to be seen as ruthless with list decisions, then maybe they should go all in. No half...
Agree BigFrizz.
Looking at Motlop, CoreyDurdin and Fantasia’s recent body of AFL work it’s nothing to really write home about either. Motlop/Durdin/Fogarty/Fantasia all have deficiencies in their game and neither can be considered a complete forward.
Cumberland has some traits that these...
...having a thousand injuries and when he did play he averaged 6 disposals, 1 shot at goal, and less than two tackles in 7 games.
Our own CoreyDurdin averaged 6.85 disposals, 1 shot at goal and 2.2 tackles in his 11 full games this year - Cumberland was worse that Durdin (who is the luckiest...
The thing with Durdin is even if he gets through the whole preseason I still wouldn't trust him enough to list him. His upside isn't enough to bother with given his injury history. Ultimately he's a depth player who is never available as depth.
...have any point of difference - I’d much rather we see what we’ve got with Lord, Campo twins and Pick 3 and also give Ollie Hollands and CoreyDurdin a chance through there.
I’ve also got no problem with Fantasia being on the list for another year. He has lost his spark but he is the most...
