Kids aren’t interested in running around much anymore. They go home and play video games and watch Tik Toks.
Let alone the kids in the Western Region, 90% of which don’t come from an Aussie background.
The most boring game I’ve ever watched. Werribee just going through the motions.
Played in good spirits. I was almost wanting a bit of a wrestle or a bump or two.
Be nice to see Heights hit back after losing 3/4 of their senior playing group last year.
Suns win it though. They probably belong most in Div 2 out of all the teams.
Cobras who knows.
Top 4? - Werribee, CS, Altona, Spotty.
Premier? - Werribee
Leading goal kicker? - Allen (CS)
B&F? - Allen (CS)
Best recruit? - Jenkins (Werribee)
Breakout year? (from a player listed in 2022) - let's go with a kid from Yarraville or Point Cook
Rising star? - no idea
Going to be hilarious seeing blokes from Essendon, Strathmore, Moonee Valley, Coburg areas venturing over to Kings Park and Deer Park.
They won't want to venture there and it'll show. Reckon DP and St A will have massive home advantages.
Lost a few due to some not wanting to play Div 2 (which is completely fair) but I think long term it is a good move for the club. They were just making up the numbers in Div 1 and have been for a long time.
8-8-7 and the WRFL desperately need to find 4-5 clubs to fill the void of St. A and DP leaving (and try not to lose any more clubs).
Any ideas of potential clubs that could join? Burnside Heights (unlikely), Melton Bloods/South, Diggers Rest, Werribee Centrals, Eynesbury etc.
Have you actually been to Braybrook, then ventured over to Maribyrnong? Go to Sunshine, then venture on over to Aberfeldie. Think the answer is pretty obvious.
Has there ever been two reserves sides and two grand final sides from the same club playing each other on the same day in recent times?
Huge day for both clubs.
Werribee a massive chance this week on the big Werribee VFL ground. I'm tipping an upset, Werribee by 10 points. Seem to play the ground really well.
I'd be shocked if Lake left CS. Loves the joint.
IMO Suns are ready to make the jump and be competitive in Division 2. Gotta get out of this division by all means possible if you want to be a successful local footy club.
Also well done to Heights for fielding a side this year and more importantly making finals. Were competitive all year and...
Surely you can ring blokes, mates, past players, bring up 18s etc.
For a large club, in an area like Point Cook, not being able to field a reserves side is a huge concern.
...good blokes and great to play against but are hanging on by a thread. Wyndham Suns and Albanvale need to do everything in their powers to get the f* out of this comp. Especially Wyndham if they want to establish themselves.
Much better off going down the road and playing for Keilor Park...
Predictions
Altona vs Hoppers - Altona by 35
CS vs Sunshine - CS by 150
Spotty vs PC - Spotty by 65
St Albans vs Deer Park - Deer Park by 45
YSE vs Werribee - Werribee by 90
Yaraville and PC will eventually surprass St Albans and Deer Park, have surpassed Sunshine and Albion, as they have the area and junior programs. No reason why PCC can't do the same. Unfortunately the older WRFL clubs are declining and the newer ones are blossoming.
If they go undefeated throughout the whole season then they simply must go up. Be one of the most dominant Div 2 sides in recent memory. If Yarraville and PC can come up, PCC can also.
