Read this on the Carlton board, sound familiar?

‘Voss has a plan that relies entirely on long kicks, contest and individual brilliance. It's not modern, it's not smart and if there isn't a hero on the day it utterly falls apart.’

is retro round an official thing? you actually can't find an official write-up or anything about it. you can find references to the "Fox Footy Retro Round". I saw Melbourne's kit with the old AFL logo and thought that was cool, but it seems not every club is actually doing a retro guernsey. we are wearing our "retro" guernsey the week before retro round, which is meant to be Gather Round? where some clubs are wearing retro guernseys and some 'dark' guernseys? it's too hard to follow even if you want to

No, they got rid of it as an official thing once Port had a written agreement to wear the PB’s in an official heritage round.

Funny that.

He learnt from the best.

They forgot ‘emotion’

That was said in a earlier post as well as ‘work harder’.

Him and Hinkley were peas in a pod.

Not sure what's funny. I'm keeping stats of all players in a spreadsheet, and TDK is one of the best performing players thus far prior to this game.
He does everything himself from the ruck tap so yeah, ofc hes gonna be Carltons 'star' player each week. Nobody else gets to play.

You should probably factor in wins and losses because clearly it aint working too well for them.

Also the 2 games I've watched he's been beat by Nankervis and now Cameron.

Carlton play exactly like Port now. Watching when they take a kick out it looks like the same set up and players having no idea what to do. Voss has brought the exact blue print Hinkley was using and it’s now been completely exposed.

Every game I've watched of his, he's tapping brilliantly but the Carlton Mids are terrible. His tap to advantage is great. The reason he's scoring well. I just had a quick look at my stats for this game which are incomplete but he still scored well just lower than Lachie Schulz

What people don't see is he's scoring hitouts to advantage, rebound 50s, inside 50s, clearances like a mid, contested marks, 20 + effective disposals in his better games. He's a beast. If his mids responded then Carlton might be a much better side.

Can't knock the guy, his athleticism is everything you want in a player. IF anything have a dig at the deplorable Carlton midfielders who aren't stacking up.

63 to 46 seems like i missed a quality game

COL, 3.2 - 0.5 - 4.6 - 1.2
CAR, 3.5 - 1.0 - 0.1 - 2.4

In the mid-quarters alone, the score was:

COL, 15/4.11:35
CAR, 2/1.1:7

What kept the Blues in the game BEFORE halftime was the Pies’ inaccuracy. Then, in Q3, it was a bloodbath. Although it could have been even worse, if Collingwood kicked better.

I was talking about this with RussellEbertHandball. Voss brought something of Hinkley’s Port to Carlton. It may have helped improving them, but it’s not enough.

It’s a lot of effort for few rewards. It doesn’t work against good teams. If the team is off, it can get ugly.

Footy is currently rubbish I’m afraid. Not a good product. Not enough quality players and too many players on the field. Horrendous umpiring interpretations the final nail in your eyes should you choose to watch.
The sport has lost what made it great. The AFL won't admit it but it has. It's barely watchable now in comparison to what it was. It's a contact sport where the game's governing body is scared of being sued. That's what killed it.

PS- No one is advocating for cheap shots or king hits but look at the NHL or NFL they protect the head but kept the essence of the sport. The AFL didn't and the game isn't the same. That's just one of a myriad of issues.

Two men have been charged when found carrying fire arms at last night's Collingwood Carlton game. One was loaded. Security called the police after the men were observed behaving in a disorderly manner. Police searched the men and found the loaded fire arms. The men were both on bail prior to this incident.

Throw the book at the bastards and the AFL should ban these blokes for life.

What are you disagreeing with? The fact that these two carried a loaded fire arm into the MCG or that they should be banned for life?
Whats your problem? If there was an active shooter they would be the only ones there capable of stopping it. They should get life memberships
