Everything was pretty good. Loved that Curtin was everywhere. Stuffed up a few times and always went back to make amends. Not sure how other teams will prepare for him and I love that.
Was disappointed with Mark Keane and hated the umpiring. It was the ones they didn’t pay that were the biggest problem. Sort that shit out AFL!!!

Ugly: Channel 7 commentators, led by Nick Riewoldt, throwing a tantrum over the stop of play because of Rachele's injury. Nick cried "Since when do we stop the game for winded players?"
More Ugly: Nick Riewoldt doubling down at half time after learning Rachele was subbed off and it was more serious than being "winded"
Even More Ugly: Nick Riewoldt crying about Keane for staging. This guy is fully Vic biased, why the hell did they drag him over to commentate on this game?

Didn’t they stop the game for the Daicos cramping?

Not sure why it stands out more at half back (as opposed to the midfield), but jeez he can pick up a loose ball.

Swoops on it, no fumbles.

Playing his role well at the moment. Getting the ball and dishing it off. Not playing beyond his means or sooking

Having Foxtel do every game has been the best thing about this season

I thought North were very good today and will win 8-10 games this year

Midfield is dangerous

Peatling and Soligo were superb given Dawson ans Crouch battled

Peatling a ripper pick up

I was a bit disappointed with how we played, turned the ball over way too much, didn't really take the game on when there was the opportunity to but Crows pressured really well and were on top in the middle. LDU, Sheezel and Powell didn't have any significant impact and as much as Simpkin battles on he is a bit of a liability with his disposal.

We don't have a massive injury list but it will be good to get Wardlaw back in a few weeks, there is a different dynamic to the midfield group when he is there.

Great weekend of sport.
Sturt win first up.
SACA’s finally get the job done.
Port two headed Franchisenstein lose.
Adelaide win.

Thought Hinge was great.
Tex shines on.
Soligo, Ranks and Michleany had good games.
Laird a good 250th.
Scrappy/messy game but a solid win.

Bad/Ugly
Horrendous centre bounces not recalled.
HTB rule.
Umpiring of 15m kicks are doing my head in.

Good crowd
46,500

If we're getting that for a Sunday afternoon vs North Melbourne we'll get some 50k crowds later in the season.

Nice that we've replaced the funeral dirge from last season with some Metallica and then Darude's Sandstorm in the pre-game.

Even had some Alan Parsons Project - Sirius (Chicago Bulls' entry music) during the build up.

Someone at the club follows US sport.

Or just googled ‘Sport intro music’ pretty sure those options would be the first few that appear.

Laird was excellent today. His game is perfectly suited to half back flank. Glad Nicks finally worked that out
Also seems like Laird has embraced the new (old) role. Not petulantly sour pussing his way around like last season, yearning for his midfield spot.

He was directing traffic at times and going out of his way to give his fellow defenders a pat on the back for a good effort. Did some good one-on-one defending too, plus laid a couple of good tackles.

If he's smart this will be a career-extender for him.

💯

In Pearling, Soligo and Rankine we have 3 midfielders with extremely low centre of gravity that can hit a contest at pace, change direction and accelerate. I don't think we've ever had this before.

If you add Sid to that mix, we have quite the group building. I think we are 1 powerful big mood short, but perhaps that is Curtin?

It’s interesting because both sides almost the same, because we turned it over a heap today as well, Dawson and crouch who we usually rely on were quiet and we also have a small injury list.
