I think I’m just hurt. There’s people that I’ve gone interstate to spend Xmas with. People I’ve invited to mine and cooked for. Family that I made an effort with over the last year.

People are arseholes sometimes and only think for themselves.

An update - it's now 7pm and I haven't had so much as a text message from anyone.

We tell people to reach out. We tell people to be mindful of others, and we come up with bullshit like r u ok day.

At the end of the day though, people are just self absorbed, they don't need you til they need you.

I don't expect much, but everyone I know is aware that today's a rough day, I don't think a text message is an outrageous expectation.

I don't even like the knives I dropped nearly $500 on yesterday, and cos I used one of them (and based on how this Christmas is going) I doubt they'll let me return them.

Nah, it's the one day of the year I need people to reach out to me. And they know that.

It probably wouldn't hurt so much if it hadn't been a big 2 years of travelling to see people after divorces, traveling for parents funerals, and then associated first anniversaries where I always check up on people or take them out if they're local.

I don't like roos for what they do to dogs the lead them to water and drown them...

Years ago I was part of a working group trying to get some roos to move from one side of some train tracks to the other. Open up all the fencing, get some herding dogs, try attracting them with food? Nup, doesn't work.

Letting them cross the rail line when there's a train coming in 2 minutes? That's how you move them.

Years ago I was part of a working group trying to get some roos to move from one side of some train tracks to the other. Open up all the fencing, get some herding dogs, try attracting them with food? Nup, doesn't work.

Letting them cross the rail line when there's a train coming in 2 minutes? That's how you move them.

I remember travelling on the early train from Maryborough (Vic) to Melbourne and seeing roos hopping alongside the train. Next thing - bump bump -

Looks like the son of someone I know has been arrested for a stabbing .

Not bad, I should add that I don’t know if he did the stabbing or was just involved in the incident but he’s been arrested. Has had a tough life but that’s not an excuse.

Went with bestie yesterday to put her greyhound to sleep. He broke his shoulder in 3 places Friday night doing zooming. When the surgeon went in to have a look to operate they discovered he has a blood clotting disorder common to sight hounds and the surgery and afterwards couldn't help him. Very shocking and sad. He will be very missed.
