We would have been fine if the umpires didn't inexplicably hand England a newer ball. The weren't entitled to a new ball, yet still got one and were able to do damage with it.

yes this was very strange

but it was same old story for our top 6 this tour. make 40-60 but refuse to finish it off.

Test was lost on day 1 when England should have been out for 200

From there we probably win comfortable .
Our batting form hasnt been good enough to ice games . We needed a big 100 last night but again got 4 'nice' scores .

I dont blame England for the ball change. Umps were incompetant in that. Real amatuer hour stuff .
We will flog them down here

Looking at that game, it's hard to believe that NSW is that poor, and that's come from someone who has watched SA redefine dogpoo as a cricket characteristic.

He and Perry look a very good long term unit for the Vics .
Fergus might be a yard slow to effective up a level but wont know if/when he gets a chance .

Glenn Maxwell just scored a four to get to 151 currently not out and he CANNOT move. Cannot run due to cramp. He is just standing there, no movement, just clubbing the ball. Amazing stuff.

next ball in the 42 over he reverse bats another 4!!

the last ball of the over, he clubs a single but he cannot run so its no run.

47 from 48 balls.


Afghanistan has bowled well, fielded ok, got some luck from the umpires and some really bad decisions by the Aussie batting including Marcus, Marcus and Starc.

I watched Maxwell score a century of just 48 balls about 2 weeks ago but this...no way we should have won.

Amazing really. Not sure we will ever see anything like that ever again. A double hundred, team all but gone, on one leg, in pretty difficult conditions for batting, in a world cup. Absolutely amazing from Maxwell, barely moving and smashing them everyone through use of the wrist and quick arm speed. Vaughn said it might be the best innings of any format ever. It possibly is.

Feel a bit for Afghanistan... it was the game to stamp themselves on the cricketing map... a big win against Australia, and putting then in finals contention. But only 'a bit'.

Yep.

Task is difficult but not impossible. Head, March, Warner and Big Show all capable of going ballistic.
