Well done on getting Life Broken - you get into home games at Brusnwick Junction for free + have the right to take the bbq tongs from any other non-lifer. You get a car park (but its at Elizabeth Oval in Adelaide) and a 1/4 share in a club tie. Did I miss anything??

ROUND 7 Vs Dragons
The Dragons won the opening bounce and moved forward before Fat Pizza barged through to push the ball back the opposite direction, Carn the Roys!, Freakie and Broken exchanged the ball which set up a flea29 goal. The Dragons pushed forward again, but Fat Pizza and Maroon Goon denied their surges leading to Fred slotting our second goal. The Dragons responded with a quick goal and got another clearance to level the scores at two goals apiece. We got the ball in to our forward line only to have the Dragons bring it back out before a huge hit by pantskyle set up Cheetah to kick the Roys 3rd. A Dragons turnover had the Roys heading forward again as 3KZ is Football registered a minor score. That score ended up being the last one of the quarter as we held a 7 point lead. The Dragons pegged that lead back a point as Freakie fought valiantly in the middle. PTizzle rushed through a behind as he and FattyLumpkin were trying hard. A botched PTizzle kick in saw the ball quickly sailing back his way for another Dragons point and it was an instant replay from a poor Made4September kick-in. Another poor clearance and this time the Dragons converted accurately, giving them their first lead of the game. Another Dragons clearance led to another Dragons behind, but this time we were able to work it out of the backline. Broken and Mobbenfuhrer teamed up in the guts to setup pantskyle who gave Fred a chance to kick his 2nd and put the Roys 2 points up. From that point on we were outscored 13 goals 4 behinds to 6 behinds. An absolute disaster and painful having to relive it. ROYS 4.7.31 Dragons 16.9.105

ROUND 8 Vs Bombers
Shades of last week early as no Roy touched the ball as the Bombers scored the first point of the game and quickly followed it up with two goals. 3KZ is Football and Fred combined for our first goal and we started to get in the game. The Bombers responded with a behind and a goal then 3KZ got involved with another goal scoring play kicking one himself and after another Bombers misscore setup Ed_Gein for our 3rd goal. The Bombers closed the quarter out with 2 behinds and their inaccuracy ensured we only trailed by 5 points. The Bombers started the 2nd with a goal and behind before 3KZ got involved again setting up one of Dicky Fitzwells two inaccurate scores. The Bombers took the ball back down the field and started a run where they added 21 points to their lead before Freakie and royboy2 kicked goals late to make it a 20 point game at the half. Royboy2 snapped a point to start the quarter which set off a run for the Bombers where they kicked 6 goals in 5 minutes to push the lead out to 57 points.
2 Roys goals book ended 3 Roys behinds to close the gap to 49 coming in to the last term. Freakie, Mobbenfuhrer and Fred tried hard to get the Roys back in it, but we just couldn't chip away at that lead and ended up suffering another big loss. ROYS 9.10.64 Bombers 16.15.111

Our third straight road game and after two shocking results we needed to turn our fortunes around and we bolted out of the gate against the Hawks with a goal to Cheetah and 2 to FattyLumpkin. The Hawks fought back with a couple before Fatty Lumpkin dobbed his 3rd and Fred slotted one from close range. Dicky Fitzwell added another goal, which was quickly answered by the Hawks, but we had the start we needed as we hit the first huddle leading by 14 points. The Hawks scored the first goal of the second term, but excellent work in the middle by Carn the Roys! Set up a Sasquatch goal and started a chain of 8 behinds and 2 goals (to Fred and Carn the Roys!) and a lead of 33 points. The Hawks clawed back with 3 goals in 4 minutes as the half time siren blared with the Roys lead back to 14 points. It appeared as if the Roys were still in the change rooms as the first five minutes of the quarter saw the Hawks with a 2 point lead as no Roy could get a clear possession. Some scrappy play quickly saw the Roys score a point via Fat Pizza, followed by a Dicky Fitzwell minor to level the scores. Scores remained level for just under 13 minutes with 3KZ is Football, Mobbenfuhrer and pantskyle fighting tirelessly before the ball found it's way down to Fred whose kick bounced through for a behind. The Hawks goaled just before the siren to lead by 5 at the end of three quarters. An early Hawks goal was answered by Cheetah and we were still fighting even as the Hawks got out to a 13 point lead. Some nice Fatty Lumpkin work set up a Sasquatch point where Royboy2 intercepted the kick-in and kicked truly. From the tap pantskyle and Cheetah worked hard as pantskyle kicked a goal to level the scores again. Three gut wrenching goals to the Hawks saw us down by 3 goals at the 20 minute mark of the quarter. Freakie took the ball from the centre and gave it to Fatty Lumpkin who slotted a goal. On the ensuing ball up the centre men surged the ball forward where pantskyle slotted another major and the difference was down to six. From the tap, we got the ball, turned it over at Half Forward, got the ball back in the middle, where we turned it over to get it back on our half back line as the siren blew. ROUND 10 Vs Wonders
Good to be back home after a 3 game road trip, but we were facing a tough opponent. This week saw icefreak and Royboy29 debut and it didn't take icefreak long to make an impact as he kicked a goal less than a minute in to the game. The Wonders piled on the next four and it was looking like another drubbing was in store. Fred was having none of that as he kicked his first and following three behinds to each team he kicked his second and we went in to the first break a goal down with the debutants getting heavily involved. Like the first quarter, a quick goal opened the second to level the scores. A busy pantskyle put us up by 6 and Fatty Lumpkin barrel extended our lead by another goal halfway through the term. 3KZ is Football and Maroon Goon were keeping the Wonders at bay but the Wonders pressure saw our lead drop to 1 point.
Fat Pizza kept the pressure up in the forward line to setup an icefreak behind, a minor score- this time to Fred, and then a FattyLumpkin behind. Another point was quickly answered by a Wonders goal and we found ourselves trailing again. PTizzle linked with Broken to setup a Royboy2 goal and we had a 5 point halftime lead. Another early Roys score (Mobbenfuhrer behind) opened the quarter. icefreak kicked his second, then Mobbenfuhrer found his target to goal, Fatty Lumpkin put in a superhuman effort to grab his second and after a Freakie goal we were 31 points up. The Wonders pegged back that lead, despite another Royboy2 goal, and we led by two straight kicks at 3 quarter time. Another quick score to open the 4th as Fatty Lumpkin kicked number 3. The Wonders pegged it back to 14 points before Royboy29, showing the poise of a veteran slotted two goals to extend the Roys lead to 26 points. The Wonders answered with two of their own but Royboy2, who was in everything, and Fat Pizza each kicked goals and a 24 point lead was looking to be enough as the final quarter ticked away. Some early pressure was applied on the backline with Ptizzle and Maroon Goon thwarting a number of surging Furies advances. They gave the midfield enough chances to move the ball forward and when they finally did icefreak started the game as he did last week by kicking the first goal of the match. Some sloppy play resulted in a Furies goal but we tightened up and started to take control of the quarter. Mobbenfuhrer and Fred combined to kick 3.2 and pantskyle, Royboy29 and Cheetah were getting a lot of the ball. Taking a 25 point lead in to the second quarter the Furies pegged it back to 16 points. We halted their run as we piled on 4 successive goals which was part of an 8 goal term with Fred kicking 3 and Broken 2 in that term to give us a 9 goal lead at the half. We were caught napping coming out of the rooms as the Furies started to claw their way back in to the game to reduce the lead to 35. Two quick behinds to Mobbenfuhrer triggered another Roys wave of scoring as we pushed the lead out to 42 points at the last change thanks to a huge quarter from Royboy29 and great work from Fat Pizza and Stocka. The Furies attempted to make inroads to our lead, but every Furies challenge was met as Cheetah, Mobbenfuhrer, Fat Pizza and Royboy2 scored early goals. Our continued scoreboard pressure seemed to get to the Furies as we closed out the term with an unopposed 4 goals 2 to roll to a big 67 point victory with barely a Roys player coming off the field having had a bad game. Spirits were up after last weeks big home win and with another home game the crowd was eager for another one. The crowd quietened a bit when the Demons opened with a goal. Some hard work by Cheetah led to a Roys behind then Fred got the crowd on their feet as he banged home two goals in quick time. Royboy2 joined the party with our third. Mobbenfuhrer then added a behind and a goal and when Cheetah added another Roys goal we were 26 points up. A Demons goal was answered by Freds 3rd and only a late rally by the Demons kept the lead to 12, which was closer than it should have been at the end of the first quarter. After an early Cheetah goal it was tense stuff as both teams couldn't get the ball successfully. The Roys added 2 behinds to the Demons 1 halfway through the quarter. Royboy2 kicked his 2nd goal and Cheetah his 3rd and the lead became 31 points with Royboy29 and Broken getting plenty of the ball. The backline was put under the pump for a stretch as the Demons could only score a string of 3 behinds as Stocka, Maroon Goon and Reardo held the Demons to just 4 behinds in the quarter. We put through 3 goals to close out the quarter to lead by 47 at he main break. The last award of the night is the ItsMyShow award for the seasons biggest spammer named after that old Roys spamming bohemiath Itsmyshow . ROUND 13 Vs Gumbies
With three wins on the trot we were confident coming up against a struggling Gumbies outfit. After spotting a match up mismatch we saw Fred at FF swap with Cheetah at CHF. Fat Pizza was making it hard for the Gumbies backline and through a lot of his hard work we had jumped to a 19 point lead before the Gumbies had even scored and the momentum of the past few weeks was looking to still be with us. But after the Gumbies first score they kept scoring, with only a behind to Cheetah breaking the run to the point where they led by 2 points at the first change. The second quarter started with two scores to each team, unfortunately we could only manage behinds to the Gumbies goals and we trailed by 12 points despite good work from royboy29 and flea29. 3KZ is Football narrowed the gap to 6, but the Gumbies answered and after some Roys inaccuracy the Gumbies kept chipping away to lead by 17 at the half. Kooka and 3KZ is Football were having an influence on the game, but more needed to lift. Fat Pizza put his hand up and kicked a quick goal to start the term, the Gumbies answered with a goal, then icefreak bombed a beauty, only for another replying goal, before FattyLumpkin bagged a goal to reduce the lead to 11. The last half of the 3rd quarter was an arm wrestle as both teams fought for the ball but could only add a couple of behinds. A last second goal by icefreak had us within 6 points coming in to the last quarter and we felt we were in with a chance. A rushed behind early had the lead at 5 before the Gumbies extended it to 13. Another rushed behind followed by a Cheetah goal cut it to 6 before the Gumbies extended it to 15 with about 10 minutes remaining.
Freakie and Fat Pizza setup 3KZ is Football and the lead was 9. The game stayed that way for a tense 5 minutes before Fred kicked a major and we were within 3 points with 3 minutes left in the game. We got the ball forward, but gave away a free, Ed_Gein stopped a Gumbies charge, we turned it over, we got a free kick, we handballed our way in to trouble in the centre and turned it over leading to a Gumbies behind with seconds remaining. ROUND 14 Vs Dragons
Every game from this point was becoming a must win game as we were hovering outside the top 4 and this game against the Dragons wasn't going to be easy. It was tough going early with no team taking advantage. Maroon Goon and icefreak were battling hard down back and pantskyle was imposing himself on the battle. The quarter started to turn our way late as Cheetah and Fat Pizza goaled giving us an 18 point lead before the Dragons whittled it down to 11 points by the first siren. The second quarter saw 3KZ is Football getting heavily involved, Ed_Gein was battling down back and Cheetah was working hard up forward but neither team could get more than a 7 point lead after an early Dragons goal and fittingly the first half of the match ended with the scores tied. The arm wrestle continued in the third quarter, the Dragons got out to an 11 point lead at one stage, only for us to peg it back to level the scores. Carn the Roys! and royboy2 were having a massive influence on the game and we pushed the lead out to 10 points before a late, late Dragons goal made it 4 points at the last orange break. Our inaccuracy was hurting us as we scored 10 behinds in the 3rd quarter. The tense game continued as we could only add 1 behind in the first 12 minutes as the Dragons scored 1 goal 1 to have a 2 point lead. Ed_Gein and Freakie worked hard from the kick in to get the ball to Cheetah who slotted his 3rd goal to give us a 4 point lead. After the bounce Carn the Roys! denied the Dragons and the ball headed down to Fred who added a point to our lead. Freakie and Cheetah kept the ball in the forward line with our lead being extended by a Dicky Fitzwell behind. A big bomb from Freakie in the centre resulted in our 22nd behind for the game and a 7 point lead. Continued forward pressure returned the Dragons kick in and a rushed behind put us up by eight 18 minutes in to the last quarter. The Dragons quickly took it downfield to take a point off our lead. Freakie benefited from some hard 3KZ and icefreak work to kick a goal to put us 13 points up. We were hoping it would be the sealer 5 minutes from home. A Dragons shot on goal had hearts in our mouths, but it went wide and that was the end of the Dragons threat. ROYS 10.23.83 Dragons 10.11.71

ROUND 15 Vs Bombers
Our third meeting of the season with the Bombers, who were red hot, and we needed a win to keep our finals chances alive. We went toe to toe with the heavyweight early, a couple of behinds, a goal apiece and we were only 1 point in arrears in the early going. Goals to Fatty Lumpkin and Roylion had us up by 11. A Bombers goal answered before 2 Roys behinds and a goal to Broken made our lead 13. The Bombers answered with another goal before Stocka kicked one goal and Fred kicked his 2nd and 3rd to see us 20 points ahead as the first quarter concluded. We couldn't break away from the Bombers in the second quarter. A Fatty Lumpkin goal was answered, and the Bombers added a couple of misses to make it a 15 point game late in the quarter. From a kick-in we battled to get the ball forwards where after a scrappy couple of minutes Royboy2 kicked a goal. He repeated it 2 minutes later as we took a 27 point lead in to the sheds. Would it be enough of a lead to keep the Bombers at bay? The Bombers came out hard reducing the lead by 7, but then it was all Roys. Dicky Fitzwell kicked a goal, Fat Pizza kicked one, then royboy29 did. Fat Pizza kicked another as did royboy29. Roylion kicked two in a row and royboy29 decided three would be nice as we extended a 20 point lead to 67 points before the Bombers scored a late goal. However we outscored the Bombers 7.6 to 2.1. Being the Roys a 62 point lead coming in to the final quarter doesn't always mean a win and the tension around the ground was telling. Goals to Cheetah and Roylion had extended the lead to 75 points 6 minutes in to the final term. A couple of goals to the Bombers came, but the Roys continued on their merry way as we banged on 6 goals in the last term to the Bombers 2 to win by a massive 91 points and this win was making a number of finals contending teams nervous. ROUND 16 Vs Hawks
The Roys finals hopes were still alive and a win against a Hawks team, desperate to stay alive, was a must. pantskyle and Broken battled off a flock of Hawks to move the ball forward where FattyLumpkin kicked a long goal to give us an early boost. The Hawks responded hard and in the blink of an eye had got out to a 2 point lead which they kept adding to as we failed to score in that quarter, despite the gallant efforts of Freakie and Royboy2. We trailed by 21 as we trudged towards the coaches first break spray. The quickest of goals, to Fred, opened the second quarter, but the Hawks answered with the quickest of replies and piled on another run of scoring to take a 40 point lead. Ed_Gein and pantskyle were still fighting and their work led to a Roys goal which was, again, answered by the Hawks as the Roys put on a run of three behinds before a Fat Pizza goal narrowed the lead. We walked in to the change rooms 34 points down as the fans hurled abuse at us, and at Itsmyshow. One wag even shouted that given the Roys fadeouts we were likely to lose by 785 points! We charged out of the sheds as Cheetah bombed an early goal, only for the Hawks to answer. Then Fatty Lumpkin scored a goal, then Fred kicked one and we were within 21 points. After two Hawks goals, Broken answered with a goal and a bunch of minor scores saw out the quarter where we had lessened the lead by 7, to trail by 27. Fred opened the 4th with an even quicker goal than he scored in the 2nd and we were 21 down. Royboy2 backed up a couple of minutes later and it was a 15 point deficit and that started an agonising stretch where the Roys chipped away at the Hawks lead. A rushed behind to the Roys. 14 points. Misses to Freakie and Broken. 12 points. Fat Pizza scored a behind, Fred scored 2. 9 points. The Hawks tipped a PTizzle shot over the line. 8 points. Fred again with a miss. 7 points. A Fat Pizza goal nearly brought the Morton I Cann Stand crashing down as we were now 1 point down. The crowd was at fever pitch. The Hawks took the centre bounce forward but could only score a behind. That led to a turnover from the kick in which the Hawks scored a goal from and we trailed by 8 with 7 or so minutes left. pantskyle found himself forward and pegged that back to 2 and the comeback was alive. The Hawks got it forward again but we held back the charge before some poor ball use saw the Hawks goal with 5 minutes remaining. The Hawks were making it hard for us to move the ball and as time ticked away the need for two goals was nearing impossible. A Hawks score 24 minutes in gave them a 9 point lead and that's the way the game ended. A tough loss, but we left too much too late. ROYS 12.13.85 Hawks 14.10.94.
