Yeah agree. Force is lower, so lower penalty. But that aside, the events are as identical as you will get on a footy field.

Well 1 is about right. Same as the what the penalty should have been for Peter Wright.
What do you think the “impact” component of the charge means?
Of course the outcome of the action carries weight. And given that the AFL rarely uses a “deliberate” for intent it will always appear to carry more weight, even in incidents that are similar.
Greene was never going to get 4. One guy went off on a stretcher… One got up and played on.

Of course it is. Has been for years. And the slap shot approach to the “likely to cause injury” clause is laughable.

All games going back to when we earned a home final against you guys. So since then 5 games in Melbourne and 5 in Sydney
But wait, we're playing you guys again later this year in Melbourne
So by the seasons end we'll have played more in Melb in the last few seasons than at the g

Worse outcome? Proceeds to attach a clip of a very benign outcome
There you go, both players going at the ball with a marking action causes less damage compared to an almost guaranteed concussion due to a shoulder to the head.
