No surprise, but confirmation by Gold Coast that Hardwick is their coach till 2029. All he has to do is to take them to a final appearance, and he will have done what no Gold Coast coach has never done before!
Damien Hardwick joins the Gold Coast SUNS

Swines is a lovely touch, I will be running with that from now onMan I’m conflicted but I actually hope the swines win …. There, I said it
70 thousand crying blues fans is a pretty good alternative.Man I’m conflicted but I actually hope the swines win …. There, I said it
Yeah … that’s what swayed me70 thousand crying blues fans is a pretty good alternative.
Yeah ... hoping somehow they both get DNQ'd and us and the aints both go throughI dunno ... I have reasons to hope they both lose.
Is it too much to hope a meteor hits the ground and wipes them both out? That's probably a bit extreme - there'd be nowhere for us to play tomorrow, then.
Skills level in this game is pretty ordinary. I don't think Melbourne would be having too many concerns about next week watching thisA fitting metaphor for the swines first half
Interesting snippet regarding Grundy's take on Sydney (city) opportunities outside of footy. Also, how does that affect their pursuit of Ben McKay, in terms of available contract $$$?
Port Adelaide officially out of Grundy race as Sydney trade a near-certainty
Tom Morris has the latest.www.sen.com.au
Port Adelaide is officially out of the race to secure Brodie Grundy, leaving Sydney as the ruck’s near-certain home for the next four years.
The Power put together a football-focussed presentation to Grundy and were happy to pick up Melbourne’s contract, which expires at the end of 2027. Grundy was keen to explore the club’s views on work-life balance and, as first reported by Sam Landsberger of the Herald Sun, more attracted to the lifestyle in Sydney and the opportunities it could present outside of football.
Port Adelaide's DNA is fundamentally different to Sydney's and believes its core responsibility is football and the expectations from its passionate fanbase demand this. This is not to say the Swans priority is not football, only that selling points also extend beyond the game. There are no hard feelings between Port and Grundy, but it became clear to both parties after the meeting that club and player had different priorities.
