WC within touching distance now. 7.5 clear with a dozen to go. Not a fan of the 1 game WC playoff but will atleast be on our turf

still a slim chance for the division
Would be nice, but we seem not to be able to close the gap, been around the 3-5 game region for awhile now. They have a big series against the Stros to finish the regular season but shouldn't drop too many of their others

If we had Boston, we might be a chance, but i think you are right, must be switched on for that one game

Swept the Twins and if the O's can do us a favour we will close to within 2.
On the road for a series against the Jays and then 7 straight at home to close it out

Looks like another blowout in this series.
8-1 Yankees
11-0 Red Sox
Yankees currently 9-0 up with Price giving up 5 homers in 3.1 innings

To score 19 runs in a 3 game series and being shutout in 1 game, is a pretty good effort, just shows how much offensive this team has, but then to limit Boston to 13 runs, is a even better effort, if we can pick up that extra starter, it could be our year

Need a second topline starter. Trevor Bauer is available, and to use his own words, the whole 'Cole & Bauer hate each other' thing is chronically overblown. Tanaka is an FA, but one gets the feeling that he has no interest in leaving. Garcia will be better for the shitshow that's been the last 6 weeks.

Not sure what to do with Sanchez. Higgy clearly stays, and Stanton is a better bat than Gary.

Don't care what it costs, but re-sign DJ Le Mahieu.

Must move on from Tanaka Happ Paxton and Gardner. Add Ellsburys contract (finally) and a potential trade of Ottavino thats nearly $80m off the books to throw at Bauer and then resign the likes of Judge and DJ

Need some new blood in there.

Gary stays because his value is in his potential rather than trading him for what its worth now.

Pretty sure Paxton is already gone. Had forgotten about this being the final year of Ellbury's contract. What a clusterheck that turned out to be. Suspect Happ is on the way out, Michael Kay commented a few times over the season that there was some friction between Happ and the front office over Happ not being given the chance to meet his appearance bonus requirement of 10. Tanaka makes a fine #3 if we can get another ace.

Ottavino makes an interesting case. It his best, that slider is ******* untouchable. But he should be grateful to Gary Sanchez, because it's only Sanchez being as bad as he was this year that kept Ottavino out of the spotlight.

Agreed on all counts. But a 2021 and beyond Tanaka is a 4, probably a 5 on a world series team.

I'd much rather our 4 & 5 be a mixture of Garcia Schmidt and Monty than another year of Tanaka. Then there is German as well.......
