Yes, I can't believe Supercars are spending millions on testing when there was never an issue...
There is/was definitely a parity issue. No argument there. It just wasn't a parity issue between Ford & Chevy. It was between Coke & Red Bull, and the rest of the competition. Those 2 teams found a way to make these pigs of cars work, whereas none of the other teams had uncovered the method for turning s**t into diamonds.

Erebus and their s**t together a lot more than 888 did.
For all that, SVG still would have been leading the Championship going into Adelaide, if he weren't stripped of the race 1 win in Newcastle (due to having the driver cooling system mounted on the wrong side of the car).

Having said that, Kostecki was clearly the best driver in the field this year, and it would have been daylight robbery if he hadn't won the Championship.

Wow, Kostecki likely out at Erebus. Terrible look for the sport if the champ doesn't even defend his title.

If a team is forced to choose between a driver and a manager who has recruited team members, and taken the team to the top, the choice is simple.
I have no doubt that the driver is talented, but the team comes first.
It's not one driver, it's both of them - don't forget that Will Brown went to 888 racing, and you've got rocks in your head if you think getting away from Barry wasn't one of the motivating factors in that decision.
