GRFL 2011 PRE season

One of the most even finals series in years about to begin tomorrow. Any of the 4 teams will think they can bring home the flag. Won't be the best of conditions it seems. Tipping Macorna to defeat Murrabit by 4 goals. Murchie to be best on.

Not big Hughy Foott either. Murrabit far too strong for Macorna yesterday. Metro obviously came into the game wounded as he spent most of his time in the forward line, overall hurting Macorna's chances as his their Barometer. If his up, the teams up, if his not then they're shot! Big Needsy after spruking about how easy GRFL footy is was found out yesterday and didn't take well to the crowd giving him a bit, signalling the bird after kicking his only goal, which was a cheapy!

Needs stats, 2 kicks 1 goal, one of those kicks a soft free kick. Josh Bray greating coaching, Randall on Needs, Randall win. Ettershank on Rowe, Ettershank win, Bray on Metro, Bray win. Highlight of day. Murchie & Rowe arguing with each other proir to half time.

Looked like macornas side lacked depth. Left to too few and those few were all shut down!! The blues with nothing to lose played all over them

53 goals from 9 games is not a bad effort, from all reports his back next year and might have 1 or 2 from St Arnaud making the trip with him.

53 goals from his 9 games is indeed some effort. There is no doubting the man can play. If we take a look at his games v the other finals side if I recall correctly his played v Wandella and Nully once and met Murrabit for the second time on the weekend. His returns for those weeks were 8 goals v Wandella which is a very big effort but only kicked 2 v Nully and 3 goals total in his two games v Murrabit. So his averaged 3.25 goals against the finals sides and 8 goals v the rest. Make of that what you will.

Yeah well not knocking the effort at all, good effort to kick that in 9 games, but he was said to be saying how easy GRFL footy was and if it was that easy, he would have kicked more than one goal in a final (when it counts!). Moving right along as Needsy is done for the year, who wins this weekend and why?

Yeah that's right. If anything I was pointing out that he was quiet in 3/4 games against the stronger opposition.

Tough game to pick this week after Nully ran over Wandella last meeting in the last quarter to win. I'm going to tip Wandella by just a few points based on previous results in finals. They get the big results when they need them. Shaping up to a super day out at Murrabit.

Lets see how the other boys in the comp have stood up against the other best top four sides.

N HENRY - 3 goal av.

R POYNER - 2.6 goal av.

L BOTT - 2.6 goal av.

A OBENDORFER - 2 goal av.

J HIRST - 1.8 goal av.

S RANDALL - 1.2 goal av.

So 3.25 goal av. would have the big fella NEEDS the best performed, pitting the top four teams against each other.

Tall poppy syndrome i would think, Not one team in the comp would not have him in their side. Thats a fact!

Keep up the good work big fella.

If Murrabit can keep that form up they could go all the way. Not a bad run for them now.

none of them can have too high an average when the leagues goalkicker only kicks 50 cheap seats

If Murrabit can keep that form up they could go all the way. Not a bad run for them now.

What does everyone think of the team of the year in the northern times today? Very surprised Adam pollock even made the bench and big egg poyner how on earth did he get a gig when theres players like lachlan bott who missed out.

Well it's obviously a bit of a wank if it's done by the northern times. Good on them for having a go though.
Think the forward line may be a bit tall?
Would love to get back into interleague and actually have a grfl side

Heard from a pretty reliable source that Blake Anderson may have suffered a neck injury from Saturday's game that hospitalised him for a bit and is now in a neck brace? Any Bomber fans out there can confirm this? If so, gutsy effort to return to the field on Saturday!

Saw Blake on Sunday and he was far from a neck brace. Pulled up sore like most players but I don't think it's too serious, he may have gone to hospital afterwards, I'm not sure
