Bumped "Conspiracies" found to be true

MKULTRA is one that comes to mind.
The Iran Contra affair, so CIA drug trafficking.
Cointelpro.
Operation Mockingbird.
The testing of various viral, bacterial and chemical agents on both US citizens and those in other countries (Chile), without knowledge or consent (Tuskegee experiment etc.).
Operation AJAX.
Corporate/fascist plot to overthrow FDR.
Operation Gladio.
The findings of the church committee.
Operation Northwoods.
National City Lines buyout.
Operation Paperclip.

Conspiracy, or the need to conspire is an ingrained part of the human social psyche and a common group or herd behavior. Various groups, from governments, businesses, intelligence agencies, all the way down to regular joes conspire to achieve certain ends, all the time.

The thing is, larger "conspiracy theories", which have been proven true are in present tense usually just viewed as historical facts. At the time these ideas may have appeared shocking, unlikely, or the realm of dark rumor, but with the benefit of hindsight they seem sometimes even mundane when compared to the greater legacy of human mischief and trouble.

This is not to say we should suspend critical thinking, but healthy scepticism should run both ways. Governments, large corporate interest and military organisations have proven to be inherently untrustworthy in the past, which is probably a product of any large and overt concentration of power. That old adage about power corrupting, or evil coming from the exercising of power without consequence.

Definitely people should be far more vigilant, suspicious and less trusting of authority. People or organisations don't necessarily become more scrupulous, ethical or responsible with greater accumulation of influence or wealth and it is important to remember legitimacy is often an artifice, or a tool, that is as useful at hiding or enabling wrongdoings , as it is productive behavior.

how was northwoods a conspiracy theory that turned out to be true? not only was there no actual "operation" but there was also no "theory" proposed that later turned out to be true.

It wasn't until 1997 that details were released to the public (post an accidental discovery). There had long been conspiracy theories surrounding the US intelligence services planning or considering false flag operations against the US.

The details of the proposed operation Northwoods were confirmation that this was indeed the case.

Not just wars, but all sorts of off the books projects, as well as black ops.

Say that again.

Hmm, no there aren't. The driver was pissed, she wasn't wearing a seat belt, the car crashed. It's what happens. It's why drink driving is frowned upon.

It's good to hear that put to bed finally, not sure why Mohammed El Fayad didn't just ask you in the first place.

You think todays sophisticated governments can't orchestrate deception to justify war or other draconian measures? Remember the Gleiwitz incident...

On the night of 31 August 1939, a small group of German operatives, dressed in Polish uniforms and led by SS officer Alfred Naujocks, seized the Gleiwitz station and broadcast a short anti-German message in Polish (sources vary on the content of the message). The Germans' goal was to make the attack and the broadcast look like the work of anti-German Polish saboteurs.

To make the attack seem more convincing, the Germans brought in Franciszek Honiok, a German Silesian known for sympathizing with the Poles, who had been arrested the previous day by the Gestapo. Honiok was dressed to look like a saboteur; then killed by lethal injection, given gunshot wounds, and left dead at the scene, so that he appeared to have been killed while attacking the station. His corpse was subsequently presented as proof of the attack to the police and press.

In addition to Honiok, several other prisoners from the Dachau concentration camp were kept available for this purpose. The Germans referred to them by the code phrase "Konserve" ("canned goods"). For this reason, some sources incorrectly refer to the incident as "Operation Canned Goods." In an oral testimony at the trials, Erwin von Lahousen stated that his division of the Abwehr was one of two that were given the task of providing Polish uniforms, equipment and identification cards, and that he was later told by Wilhelm Canaris that people from concentration camps had been disguised in these uniforms and ordered to attack the radio stations.

Some people think that British diplomacy had skull duggery more relevant to the starting of that war than what you've mentioned.

Probably alot more to learn discussing that as well.

Of course it was 400 African American men, and rural too.

Big pharma and US gov using the most marginalised people they can. And then pollies sit back here in Australia and think that "poor people should just stop being poor"...hmm, stop the institutionalized marginalisation and they might have a fighting chance
Ahh well they're doing it to everyone in the USA now with their GM crops, thats progress!

Actually pretty interesting, the Cuban thing gives further 'proof' or ammunition towards 9/11 being a conspiracy
I visited two my brothers at the Gold Coast last night. They worked in the demolition industry for 10yrs. No one that they worked with believes the official story in regards to all four buildings. WTC1, 2, 7 & The Pentagon.
