The problem is mental health.

Unfortunately she won't join the dots and stop mentally ill people having access to all manner of firearms.
This is low hanging fruit in making a start on gun reform but the NRA will stop any thought of that - a sale is a sale and there are not about to give an inch...................

Mental health is cancer now?

What does that make mental illness? Remission? Ebola?

Many years ago i read stat about the US - more Americans were killed by gunfire at home (possibly by handguns but not 100% sure on this) during the 10 years 1965 -1975 than were actually killed in Vietnam.

So over 50 years ago across a decade more Americans were shot at home than died in a real, live shooting war.

The fact of the matter is that the average NRA members couldn't care less how many kids die as long as he can keep his guns, and in my opinion that would include their own.
The NRA and the Republican party don't want any sort of gun control as long as they can act like Billy the Kid and others, from the Wild West.

they need something to compensate for their micro-dongs

I think the cringe thing is posting it online and expecting people to react positively.

Who cares if people take their little bang-bangs to a wedding and do a lame joke with them?

Sure to be appealed or Republicans will seek to change the law just like they did for gun manufacturers not being sued.

A jury has found a Michigan mother guilty of involuntary manslaughter for failing to stop her son from carrying out a deadly school shooting.

Jennifer Crumbley, 45, is the first US parent convicted of manslaughter over a mass shooting carried out by their child.
Prosecutors accused her of being negligent in allowing her son to have a gun, and ignoring warnings signs.

Her husband, James, is facing a separate trial on the same charges.
He has pleaded not guilty.

Their son, now 17, is serving life in prison for killing four classmates at Oxford High School in Michigan on 30 November 2021.

Seven people were also injured in the shooting.

The judge, speaking to jurors, said this was probably "the hardest thing you've ever done".

Ms Crumbley appeared emotionless and stared straight down as the verdict was read in Oakland County court on Tuesday.

She was charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, each carrying a maximum sentence of 15 years.

Some relatives of those killed in the shooting expressed relief over the verdict.

As much as I abhor gun violence, this is a worry.

Watch inner city black parents get prosecuted for their kids being involved gang shootings.

It's just so ****ed over there.

Father purchases hand gun and gives to 15-year old kid with mental health issues.
Kid uses same gun in killing school students.

Michigan also prohibits issuance of a handgun purchase license to any person under age 18.5 If the handgun is to be purchased from a federally licensed dealer, the applicant must be age 21 or older.6

You don't see any culpability on behalf of the parents?

FWIW if he bought an illegal hand gun from say a drug dealer on the street corner unknown to the parents it would be very different.

I think they finally got this one right.

Yeah tend to agree, if you look at the merits of this case.

If inner city black parents give their kids guns in a similar manner, and they are subsequently prosecuted for it, that is a good thing, especially for inner city black people.

Reckon it's highly likely they use it to push the responsibility on to the parents instead of fixing the system.

Also highly likely it'll only happen to poorer people, not wealthy ones.

Blame anything but the system of social and economic injustice.

Then screech in hate at better working conditions and social programs.

She didn't give him the gun. His dad bought it for him.

She was the one who took him to the range to learn how to handle it safely.

I highly doubt she had much of a say in anything, and in the context of US gun culture, was probably viewed as 'doing the right thing' by helping him 'responsibly exercise his 2nd Amendment right' by showing him how to handle it safely.

Its just the system palming the broader social and legal problem off to parents, who in many cases are next to powerless to do anything.

Good to see that Satan is going to so much trouble just to ensure the antiChrist doesn't have the stain of illegitimacy to deal with alongside actually being the antiChrist. Although to be fair Mary was knocked up outside of marriage so maybe it's just part and parcel of the job.
