Can't see a post so Jason Dunstall has been announced as the 2024 AFL Legend elevation for the Hall of Fame this year.

Hawks fans will argue he was the first modern key forward, who would pass off as many as he kicked.

Personally, I think this is 10 years late!

He is certainly underrated in the open forward 50 era. His leading and ability to mark at pace was brilliant. And then he went back and dobbed most of them.

Gave a lot of goals away too. Deserves legend status. Best player I've seen on a lead at full speed.

If Hawthorn had to pick one player for full forward, it'll be him over Buddy and Hudson. What an embarrassment of riches.

He's unappealing but purely as a footballer he's in my view the second best full forward of all time, and Hawthorns best player.

He's a better player than Coleman Jezza or Dyer and likely many others-i think he's better than Matthews but he was partly before my time.

Completely fitting. Still an ugly Collingwood hater, but superb, legendary FF.

Peter Knights at CHF or CHB? Maybe Cyril in the pocket, and Lethal resting in the other pocket when not on the ball. Probably the greatest collective forward line of any club.

Well he only averaged 0.6 tackles per game over his career so lets not get too overboard.

I do agree though he was a great player.

It seems his image is burned in Andy Mahers brain cos he's doing his best to downplay Cheifs greatness.
How many more would he have kicked if backmen were limited in contact like today. No octopus silvagni etc etc.
