Just watched our replay v pies.
Team were so brave and gutsy right to the end.

Fantastic effort and well done. Upward next year.

Grant's is a stat line that stands out. She's quietly become a very good player.

The AFL website has just put out it’s predicted All Australian team.

Lynch was selected in the back line but Edmonds was omitted. She didn’t even get mentioned in the handful of players unlucky to miss. I haven’t watched anywhere near enough AFLW this year to assess the entire comp, but based on stats Edmonds seems like a lock.

This is an opinion piece so I wasn’t too phased, but it reminded me that throughout the year I felt we were being consistently underrepresented in the AFL website team of the week each week.

I did a quick tally of how many times a Bulldog player was included compared to all the teams that didn’t make the 8. Of the 10 teams that missed finals 6 had as many or more selections than we did. The tally is below. *(I couldn't find the team of the week for round 3 so it hasn't been included.)

Gold Coast - 5 wins – 13 nominations for team of the week

Fremantle - 3 wins – 11 nominations for team of the week

Carlton – 2 wins – 11 nominations for team of the week

GWS – 4 wins - 10 nominations for team of the week

Essendon - 4 wins - 8 nominations for team of the week

West Coast - 2 wins - 8 nominations for team of the week

Bulldogs - 7 wins - 8 nominations for team of the week

Again, I realise that ‘team of the week’ is an inconsequential opinion piece but those numbers seem way off.

To put it into perspective, we won as many games as West Coast, Carlton and Fremantle put together, yet those 3 teams combined had nearly 4 times the number of nominations that we did.

I hope that the AFL media bias against Bevo and the men’s team isn’t seeping through into the women’s media.

We pick the All-Australian team: Who's in, who's stiff to miss?

If Edmonds is not in the all Australian I would throw up

I have noticed, a bit of a smack at anything Bulldogs from the AFL, I tend to be cautious with this stuff in case I am being a bit paranoid.

This is why, when we won the flag in 2016, I did not enjoy all of the jumping onto our bandwagon in the media. Our premiership was one for the true fans, and not for those who had otherwise smacked us around or ignored us for years. Don’t know if I am alone in this sentiment, but I found it annoying.

Same thing with our girls. Ignore us or lay into us now, but I don’t want to hear from you when we achieve success in the future. I want to hear from my team, and from the people who support them. That’s it.

Melissa Hickey has left Western Bulldogs to take up a full time coaching role for Geelong Falcons Womens Team

Huge loss for the Dogs
****ing Geelong. Wish that "city" would just burn to the ****ing ground.

Edmunds should have been named on the bench at least. Best pure Ruck and has better stats defensively, tackles and intercept marking wise. Though Moody does win out in goals, metres gained, clearances, score involements and disposals. Both of their roles were slightly different.

We all know selectors only care more about the attacking stats more than anything else. Half the AA teams, mens included. You'd think are selected purely for Supercoach scores than anything else.

Doesn't take away from her good season though. Pretty happy Lynch at least made it.
