If I were a professional athlete and my body was my trade I wouldn't be touching drugs or alcohol. You can do all of the training you like but it is always going to be 1 step forwards and 2 steps backwards if you load up on that crap. I'm shocked that pretty much every AFL footballer is into this stuff.

Just a general comment though. What happened to Obst was wrong and not his fault. Hopefully he recorvers alright.

Glenn Archer is a smoker, didn't seem to hinder him in his career.

A few drinks once a week are not going to hurt you.

Hopefully this will prompt the club to enforce a mandatory Hamster Ball Rule for any player wishing to head out on the town for a few drinks.
