Went to Point Gillibrand today, Werribees 2nd QTR was rubbish. They gave willy too much time and space. Willy r a top 4 team. Bees lack pace,I think they're in a bit of trouble. Next 4 games are brutal:
Carlton at home
Pies away
North Melb at home
Suns away
Need to win at least 2 of those

Mate, how can you say the recruiting has been strong? That is a ridiculous statement when you look at the facts

We have turned over 64 players in TWO years (32 OUT and 32 IN ) being 15 players who played over 250 COMBINED games over the two years and 17 players who didn't even get a game with majority walking away from the club

We roll out 1st game with a 3rd year coach playing 13 debutants FFS or 50% of the team, no wonder we can't win a game

Like all Stand Alone clubs list management is about RECRUIT, DEVELOP AND RETAIN (RDR).

Based on turning over our list 1.5 times in two years even "blind freddie" would agree that our ability to RDR is shithouse under current regime hence our recruitment has be weak not strong.

I don't think its a ridiculous statement at all. Some of the recruits this year were exceptional. Players like Jimmy Miller, Tom Highmore, Billy Gowers, Dan McKenzie, are some of the best plyers in the competition - then their were several other very solid recruits for this season who weren't as well known but solid additions nevertheless like Owen Mullady. Some of the players we have recruited to Port would be able to get a game at any VFL side, our recruiting in my eyes was definitely very good not perfect as their were a couple of key positions we may have benefited from covering but you would mark it around the B vicinity on the report card.

What wasn't good was our player retention, losing the likes of Sam Naismith, Ethan Phillips are massive losses which were unpreventable but as you said the amount of players we lost was substantial, some we may of liked to of kept, going forward I think it would be beneficial if the club was able to focus on retaining more quality (Gasper is a good example). Retaining players was not good I agree with you, I disagree that recruitment and the quality of recruits wasnt though - not just my thoughts but those of several "vfl experts" who stated that Port Melbourne were expected to be big improvers due to their good off season recruitement.

Far from a ridiculous statement - what i do find ridiculous though is people stating fiction as fact. Ill give you two examples - people stating that membership numbers are at a all time low - this is far from the truth, Port Melbourne had the highest membership sign ups amongst all VFL clubs who participated in the membership competition easily surpassing the side that came 2nd and membership numbers of today dwarf member numbers of lets say 10 years ago - far from a all time low, not a opinion a fact - the numbers do not lie. Another example - stating that people refused to take free bus rides to a away game to Frankston, the fact is that their was no free supporter bus.

Talking about facts ild suggest you do some fact checking before you post misinformation as you will lose credibility fast and people will begin to think your posts are agenda based.

Frankston vs Coburg is low scoring but very entertaining so far, sounds like it's a great atmosphere and there is a sizeable amount of coburg fans there

Frankston win 76 to 59. Went to sleep in the 4th and let Coburg kick the last three goals, but managed to hang on and slow the game down.

Not the prettiest performance, but it was a great contest. Credit to Coburg for their ferocity today. It was just a bit of class and composure that got Frankston over the line. Great to have two standalone clubs pulling a crowd that size and making a great night of it.

Great to see Frankston in the top 4, who's the player in the sleeves for you guys? He was great

How are all those so called vfl expert" going Mega? Big improvers due to good off season recruitment

We are currently 0-5

Why don't you mention all the recruitment failures last 2 years mega. Clark, Bennel, Lentini, Bowes, Wilkinson, Stakelberg, Wiedeman etc etc.

Empty bus because only 6 people wanted to pay $20, oh please!

Win next week hopefully, but don't come on here spruiking as it clearly shows the benchmark you set in life...like your Cred on here, very low

The discussion was regarding the players we recruited this season not the season prior. Do you always respond to points of difference with irrelevance?

As for Frankston their were around 1,000 people so not bad for a home game played 50 ks away from home, it's just that many didn't chose to take the bus.

Regarding team performance we are playing exceptional, and once we get going we will be unstoppable. I heard us say it on the radio earlier this week so it must be true.

OMG, the discussion has been about recruitment under current coach just over 2 years which you are completely ignoring and have NO RESPONSE to players I mentioned

But let’s take your point on recruitment this year, how’s that going after 5 games??

1000 people at Frankston, now I know you are talking crap. I was there, would have been less than 200 which included s the 6 employed patrons on the bus , plus 3 dogs.

Don’t believe everything you hear.

We are in the same boat that is going nowhere for just over 2 years, it has gone 13 out of 38 metres, we have made some very poor crew appointments and you reckon wait for the wind to pick up, whilst most are stating it’s because we have a hole in the boat and we are sinking. Time to buy a new boat!

Now go away as just embarrassing yourself.

Seeing as you asked for a response, the players you mentioned were all good players. Bennell played well when he played, Dylan Clarke was a consistent stand out, Lentini was a top possession getter etc etc. The players you mentioned were quality recruits. We don't seem to struggle to attract/recruit players it's our retaining of players which is a issue. This has been repeated earlier, do you know the difference between the two ? I'm not being sarcastic but I think you may be struggling to understand the difference, perhaps English is not your first language?

As for the crowd figures at Frankston, I wasn't there so I can only take the word of statisticians and the media, which I'm more inclined to do rather than take the word of someone who has a record of proven inaccuracies.

I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic

I wasn't at that Frankston game myself but looking at the replay I honestly struggle to see how it could have been 1000 people. I know what that place looks like with a crowd that size and unless everyone was packed on the grandstand side where the camera couldn't see them, I don't see how there could have been anywhere near 1000 people there.

So out of all that you AGREE our Recruit Development and Retain (RDR) has been crap under current coach. WELL DONE.

We also agree you were Wrong in regard to 1000 spectators at Frankston.

We also agree you need to stop hiding behind fake VFL experts and Statisticians/media ( can you post the outlet that stated 1000?..no need we all know you can’t) when you are caught out spewing crap.
💩

Lol I don't think I agreed to anything you claim I agree with another error on your behalf, you are on a roll with your mistakes which further solidifies my point that your posts are full of errors. One thing i do agree with is that retention wasn't great. I would have liked to of kept Cincinotta, Lentini, Clarke, Gasper - we did fail in this department. I won't be commenting on this particular topic with you again as it is just re hashing previously mentioned points which is clogging up the board - in conclusion, recruiting was good, development and retention weren't.

As for the crowd figure, go listen to the 3wbc show which was aired after our game at Frankston. Was mentioned within the first 15 minutes of the show.

if you think recruiting Bennell ( never going to last mor than a few games and diminish culture) was good then you remain delusional.

Those other 4 especially left I believe after fallouts with the coach .not good RETENTION.

Facts…our RDR which you agree is pathetic under current coaching regime

Ha, you stated 1000 based on Statistician and media. Gee, didn’t realise 3wbc budget stretch to having a statistician in the box?.. Can’t find the podcast for that game can you post. Absolute 🤡 Just more 💩💩💩 when challenged

200 spectators plus the 6 who were paid $20 hop on the bus.

Best thing you have posted “ I will not be posting anything further on the topic….”

Goods

Go away as just making fool of yourself

Do your homework and find it yourself, it's you who wants to hear the show, normally ild help out anybody and everybody except for those that show their immaturity and true colours by being rude when people don't agree to their viewpoints.

You have a heap of growing up to do but keep posting, I look forward to correcting your constant mistakes which are way off the mark - eg Port Melbourne membership numbers at a all time low, free bus rides lol
