It’s not “automatic”. The club still has to be willing to put him on the list.If they nominate us we just get them automatically with the last pick. I guess it comes down to like with Dear who nobody else was going to take do we think he's better than pick 79?
Ned choose not to nominate thoughIt’s not “automatic”. The club still has to be willing to put him on the list.
We wouldn’t just pick a F/S eligible kid who isn’t considered draft able when there might be better players still available, simply because of who his father was.
For example, in May 2018 the afl / draft scribes got a bit excited about Tom Graham (son of Mark who was F/S eligible for us).
He was elevated from local footy and started playing TAC for Oakleigh but didn’t really set the world on fire - yet some said we should still take him because he was 6’5” and the son of a gun.
Fortunately we didn’t waste a selection.
He has played the last 6 years in SANFL / NTFL and been handy, but was never good enough to play top flight footy.
We also didn’t pick up Devlin Brereton, nor….Ned Maginness.
Why?
Funnily enough - they weren’t good enough.
Same might well happen with Ky Burgoyne.
He can start Monday.23 disposals and 6 tackles for Ky yesterday.
Travis Cloke strategy. Pick up the less talented olders brother(s), then delist them once you secure Travis/Percy.It’s not “automatic”. The club still has to be willing to put him on the list.

I love crawf, boy did he bleed for the jumperCrawf’s kids… towards the end of the clip. https://pca.st/episode/1a266cdc-1555-4e8c-8ab4-0db0b56a8eb8
I don't care about which squads he does not make.23 disposals and 6 tackles for Ky yesterday.
Got a couple decent young fellas that had good games in a previous one of these young gun games too, Mass and Ramma.https://www.afl.com.au/news/1110356
Ned Maginness has been named for the young guns game this Saturday.
I was shocked when he said 18 & 17, sounds like they have so many interests and footy is only one of them although the younger brother was in the Gold Coast academy.Crawf’s kids… towards the end of the clip. https://pca.st/episode/1a266cdc-1555-4e8c-8ab4-0db0b56a8eb8
He also mentioned that the younger twins are not that into AFL? I hope at least one of the boys end up joining the hawks as a father-son.I was shocked when he said 18 & 17, sounds like they have so many interests and footy is only one of them although the younger brother was in the Gold Coast academy.
The minute they went to Byron, it was all over.He also mentioned that the younger twins are not that into AFL? I hope at least one of the boys end up joining the hawks as a father-son.
Hmmm didn’t appreciate Peter had a boy eligible at the same time as Ky. That’s not good at all for us.

That would be a very tough decision to make to choose the Hawks and not play with your cousin and on the flip side incredibly exciting to play with your cousin at Port. Plus it reunites Shaun and Peter watching their boys play in the same side.
Doesn’t read well for us at all.
Does anyone actually like their cousins?Hmmm didn’t appreciate Peter had a boy eligible at the same time as Ky. That’s not good at all for us.

Jase Burgoyne (Peter’s eldest) is obviously another cousin who is already playing at Port.Hmmm didn’t appreciate Peter had a boy eligible at the same time as Ky. That’s not good at all for us.

The “South Island” are quite partial to them.Does anyone actually like their cousins?
I don't think Ned has the toughness to be kpp or inside player, he is still playing wing mostly, the height has helped his marking, but he is still just going ok at the CTL for Sandringham, I don't know if he's done enough to be drafted tbhWill Ned be a 194cm strong bodied mid or is there potential to play as a KP. How has he been going this season. Sorry if this has been answered before
Got that Brisbane look. Will fit in well next to Ashcrofts and FletcherView attachment 1963964
