Michael HurleyIllnessLong termHipSeason"'Hurls' has been making good progress in his recovery from a hip infection. It has become a reality however that it is highly unlikely that he would be available to play football this season, and based on that he will be placed on our inactive list." Irving MosquitoKneeLong termKneeSeason“Irving will require surgery and the club will fully support him during what will likely be a traditional 12-month rehabilitation process.” (Murphy, injury report, 7/9/2020)
“Long-term rehabilitation is a tough proposition for all injured players, and certainly Irving has been transparent about his struggles throughout his recovery period. He recently asked to return home to be with his community and we were supportive of Irving taking the time to work through that. His wellbeing is our immediate priority and we will continue to work with Irving on what this means for his playing future." (Mahoney, club statement, 11/5)

Didn't do toooo badly with injuries this year. The ones we did get decimated the midfield, rather than the forward line or the defence, so finally got a chance to build some chemistry in those line groups as well as overall. Still ran out of small forwards though, mostly because we don't have very many in the first place. Also no one suspended 💃

Injuries probably worked in our favour this year as it allowed Parish to show everyone how good he was in middle, and gave opportunities to others like Durham. Also we had some luck with Phillips being mostly available when Draper was out.

We were lucky in that they sort of took turns, Stringer was fit when McGrath got injured, Phillips was fit when Draper was injured, etc.

Never quite got our best team on the park, never quite scraped the bottom of the depth barrel requiring us to play guys completely out of position. Francis forward probably the only one you'd say fell in to that category.

Yep. We’ve had the latter scenario the last few years (usually the forward line gets flogged) so I’ll take it as a win

That's what happens when two of your most talented forwards are two of the most injury prone players in the comp.

Seems we got Daniher right before he went off to Brisbane, and Fantasia is having the same old issues at Port.

For where we're at, I think we'd all prefer reliability ahead of talent.

Peter Wright has kicked more goals this year than Daniher did last year. I think that says it all really 😂
